So what did we learn this week?

Mom always told us not to accept rides from strangers … or to give rides to them, for that matter. Two lucky ladies in Hollywood ignored that rule of thumb last weekend and took a chance on a stranger who was desperate to get home (and willing to pay $50 for the ride). Nick Lachey and best friend (and ex of Jamie Lynn Sigler) AJ Discala were tired of waiting for a cab in LA (not an easy task) and offered $50 to a couple of girls who were headed home for the night. Yes, this was at 3 a.m., and, yes, Nick and AJ had been partying hard.
Note to celebs ’ don’t keep naked pictures of yourself on your Sidekick (hasn’t Paris taught you anything?). Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy was the latest celeb to be Sidekick-hacked. The world had a glimpse of Pete’s package when nude photos that the singer had on his Sidekick appeared on Web sites. The rocker took it all in stride and proudly wore a T-shirt on MTV’s TRL stating “Team Naked Pix.”
“When is this baby going to pop so I can break up with Tom Cruise?” I wonder if that was going through Katie Holmes’ head after Mr. Cruise and she got into a fight at his daughter’s basketball game.
And while no dirt on the top contestants from American Idol has surfaced (it’s only a matter of time), we can report that American Idol host Ryan Seacrest has been wining and dining Teri Hatcher.
So what did we learn this week? It’s okay to give strangers rides ’ as long as they’re famous and as long as they keep pics on the Sidekick G-rated.
