Hey, Slim-Lookin’

Thursday nights are your favorite. There’s nothing better than getting the “weekend” started with a little wine and the girls while you watch The OC. You feel pleasant and buzzed until you have to decide on a “going-out” outfit.

Then the dreaded moment: You stand in front of the full-length mirror and stare; no matter what you put on, you feel plump.

You scold yourself for ordering pizza and skipping the gym. Depression sets in.

Before you let college weight-gain ruin your night … read into it. Danica Lo, author of How Not to Look Fat, has plenty of simple tricks that will magnify what she calls your “skinnifying potentials”.

Clean Out Your Closet

1) Jersey. This fabric is not your friend if you have any kind of fat rolls, because it tends to cling to your body.

2) Crewnecks. If you are insecure about your arms, back or chest, this top-style will do nothing for your confidence. Stick to V necks.

3) Capri pants. These make everyone’s legs appear shorter. Get rid of them.

Slimming Solutions

1) Hide back fat. The number one way to conceal this bulge is to stand up straight. Also, wearing an undershirt can help since the outer shirt will cling to it.

2) Buy jeans that fit. When you’ve packed on some pounds, it sucks having to buy the size up. But you have to; it’s much more flattering when your tummy isnt hanging over the top of your pants.

3) Keep it simple. A consistent style will make it easier for you to dress yourself without continuing to undergo the pangs of nightly and daily dressing.
