Feminist Reading

Of course, you love girly magazines. Cosmo is practically your bible.
The latest sexual position, beauty product or fashion trend … you know about it. But what about the deeper issues?
We’ve established that being a female is no walk-in-the-park. Yet the hard stuff doesn’t only come from the lack of sexual spice in your life or the fact that your pores are on the large side. Everything stems from the role we have as women in society. Very rarely do mainstream magazines delve into the touchy topic what it really means to be female.
So if you’re interested in reading about an open examination of the female experience, check out some of the national feminist magazines:
1) Ms. Magazine was the first national magazine to make feminist voices heard, feminist journalism read and a feminist perspective publicized.
2) Bitch is a print magazine devoted to insightful observations on our media-driven world. Critiques of TV, movies, advertising, etc. are featured.
3) BUST presents an uncensored view of the feminine experience.
4) LILITH charts Jewish women’s lives with exuberance, rigor, affection, subversion and style.
5) New Moon is the magazine for girls who want their voices heard and their dreams taken seriously.
