You’re smart, beautiful and fun to hang out with. So why would any guy throw away a hot commodity like you?

Men, it seems, aren’t quite the simple creatures they appear to be. Here are the top five reasons they might break it off:

1. He was attracted to your looks, but your personalities didn’t mesh. Guys like to tote a babe on their arm, but usually don’t stick around once they realize you’re a real person.

2. He doesn’t want to get serious. Guys are pretty quick to decide if they want to be exclusive.

If they’re not feeling it, they’ll bail as soon as the pressure’s on to define the relationship.

3. He thinks he can upgrade. They’re always looking for a newer version &#8217 Rod Stewart ring any bells?

4. The timing was off. Guys live in the present. If settling down wasn’t his top priority when you two hit if off, he might flee if he feels you get in the way of his graduate degree/sports training/band practice.

5. He’s scared of being too into you. Dudes hate admitting they’re emotionally needy, and they’d much rather end it now if they think you’ll ruin them later.
