Obsess Less

You’re way past the dating phase – or the flirting-excessively-at-the-bar phase. In any case, you and your boy have already gone over all the basics and then some. So why are you still eating a Caesar salad (light on the dressing) at every meal and checking your phone every 15 seconds to see if he’s left you a cute text?

Chances are, the texts probably aren’t that adorable, and he only notices the salad because nothing else is on your plate. If you think he has no insecurities, think again. But here are some reasons why you shouldn’t harp on yours once you’ve snagged him:

You’re Not Athena, and He’s Definitely Not Zeus

Won’t go to the bathroom if he’s watching TV in the next room? Has he ever had this problem? He knows that you pee, that your skin isn’t perfect and that you eat, and he wants to see this! Well, maybe not all of it, but trying to be too perfect can be overwhelming for both of you.

Be Yourself

Despite what he’s staring at on the internet, no guy wants a plastic girl in real life (and if he does like Barbie a little too much, that should be your main concern). He liked you because you were different – you were yourself. Get it?

Squash Those Fears

Recognizing your fears is great, but letting them take over can be destructive. If you’re having an “I feel too fat” moment or a “Why does he even like me?” anxiety attack, admit to yourself that you’re scared but then do something, ANYTHING. Go to the gym or get coffee with a girlfriend. If your guy isn’t obsessing, why should you?
