Sorority Scandal of Vanity

delta-zeta-final.jpgSorority-chic or not, we all know which group of sisters cultivates Louis Vuitton-carrying snobs,  sporty sluts or girly geeks.

Greek membership is kind of all about appearance. And that was even more obvious to me when I heard about a recent incident at DePauw University.

Since Delta Zeta was associated with “social awkwardness,” and declining in membership, the national officers had to step in to find the source of the problem. They judged 23 of the 35 members, deeming them “insufficiently committed” and eventually told them to leave the sorority house.

Well, apparently “insuffiently committed” means “you’re too fat” because those 23 girls were overweight. The dozen members allowed to remain were thin and popular amongst the frat boys.  I guess skinny girls are more likely to attract potential sisters? I don’t know about anyone else, but personality plays a pretty big part in who I associate myself with.

This “mass eviction” created quite the outrage amongst the former sorority members, alumni and parents. The executive director of the sorority’s national headquarters denied any of the nasty accusations. But who wouldn’t deny it? She’s a total liar. Yup, I said it — LIAR.

So much for that whole “sisters for life!” stuff.
