Recap: The Hills

Monday’s aren’t my favorite day of the week for many reasons:

1) it’s Monday

2) my favorite bar cancelled their $1 pitcher night

3) I am always totally hung over from the weekend

Yet, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. At 10:00pm. On MTV.

And it is called, The Hills.

While my own life reflects Lauren’s in many ways (my name is Lauren…oh wait, that’s it) it is nice to avoid the ridiculous drama in my own life and kick back and watch it in hers. And boy does it.

This season has put the “rama” in drama. But as good as the entire season has been, last night really did it for me. Namely, Lauren’s surprise birthday party.

Now, I totally hate Heidi, but I really had to give it to her for throwing Lauren the bomb.com surprise party for her 21st birthday. And the best moment of the night? Definitely Spencer’s speech.

Like most people, I had to wonder why anyone would ask Lauren’s arch nemesis to give the birthday toast. That would be like asking me to toast George Bush on his birthday. Actually, it’s not like that at all, because even I would have the class to say something nice to the guy when all his friends were there watching. But no, not Spencer. While 60 of Lauren’s closest friends look on he decides to say this:

“Lauren and I don’t like eachother, but my girlfriend likes her so I guess I do too.”

(Well, not in those exact words, but pretty damn close.)

That kid is such a tool. Especially once you know who he is in real life. I bet you would think he was some famous guy’s kid. WRONG. Actually, he is a dentist’s son. His dad clean’s rich people’s teeth and somehow Spencer crowned himself King of L.A.

But I digress.

I could talk about this show for hours, but I really have to catch up on all the Engaged and Underage I missed during Spring Break. I guess we will just have to reconvene next week. It is most definitely gonna be a good one…perhaps the end to Spencer and Heidi? I CAN’T WAIT!!
