American Idol Recap: Sanjaya is here, get used to it!

While Gwen Stefani’s attempt to empart her “vocal mastery” to this year’s Idol contestents was enough entertainment for the night, the Sanjaya came on the show us that we had seen nothing yet.

Ah yes, in another attempt to show America that there is no room for talent and self-respect when it comes to reality TV, our favorite bottom feeder came out looking like a rooster. A somewhat androgenous atonal rooster, but he looked (and sounded) like a rooster no less. Singing a “No Doubt” song, Sanjaya left us all questioning our faith in a higher power.

Which leaves us to the dirty part, who goes tonight. While VoteForTheWorst has been pulling for Sanjaya, the fact is that someone has to go. The odds are that Sanjaya stays, but then who goes?! My vote is that Haley or Chris Sligh get booted.

Maybe one day, if we all hope hard enough, Sanjaya will be back working the soft drink station of McD’s where he can sing to the drive through customers. Good luck to all!
