Akon’s Unacceptable Stage Rage

Warning: Do not go to an Akon (who is currently on tour with Gwen Stefani) concert unless you are prepared to be fake-raped or thrown into the audience.

The latest behavior from popular rap artist, Akon, has shocked audiences and caused a bit of a controversy. A little while back, he simulated rape with an underage girl and caught a lot of heat for it, understandably.

And now, a new situation has come to light. Apparently, a young boy threw something at him during a lull between songs at a concert in Fishkill, NY. So, Akon called the young boy up onto the stage and proceeded to lift him over his head and hurl him into the audience. The Youtube video speaks for itself. Not only did he put the boy’s life in danger, but also the lives of the unsuspecting swooning audience members in the front couple rows.

Although some people may feel his behavior is totally harmless and just an understandable reaction, I feel the opposite. Young people shell out so much money to come see these performers, and the last thing they deserve is to be physically disrespected by them.

There has been some discussion in the media and on blogs about whether Gwen should kick him off her tour. And I say, Yes! She definitely should. I mean, how would she feel if someone threw her little sweetie pie Kingston into the audience when he was fifteen? Probably not too favorably.
