The iPhone Countdown: 4 days!

apple iphoneBeing an Apple fanatic and all, it’s essential that I mention this Friday marks the debut of Mac’s first ever iPhone. In typical Mac fashion, the iPhone is expected to break boundaries by bringing smart phones into the mainstream market.

What’s so freakin’ special about the iPhone, you ask?

Basically, it’s every piece of technology you’ve ever owned or dreamed of owning rolled into one.

It comes standard with every basic phone feature you can imagine (speaker phone, call waiting, call holding, conference calls, etc.); it has a wide array of impressive features acting as a camera (that is undoubtedly of a higher quality than my LG camera phone that solely produces green tinted pictures) and multimedia player (a la the iPod); and it has video capabilties, allowing users to view television programs, music videos, or movies on their hand held device.

As the spawn of Mac, of course the iPhone has endless computer-esque feautures, with built in WiFi and Bluetooth technologies. It provides web browsing, e-mail, and Visual Voicemail (an awesome feature where voice mails are organized in an e-mail box format, allowing you to pick which order you’d like to listen to your messages in).

I wasn’t kidding when I said that the iPhone can really do everything!

Some may argue that the features of the iPhone are very similar to those of the traditional Blackberries that have been on the market for years. While this holds true, the Apple iPhone is fueled with Mac technology, and that should be a dealbreaker for many consumers.

In my personal experience, Mac computer technology has been a lot more reliable than PC’s. Whether my computer was ridden with viruses, freezing, or loading a webpage in a painfully slow manner, I was never thrilled with it. All of this changed when my boyfriend bought me a Mac laptop for my birthday two years ago. Since then, as someone who is normally detached from anything electronic or technological, I have been actively devoted to insisting that Mac’s technology is just simply better than the rest.

Let’s be honest. Most of us can’t survive without a cell phone. In the past few years, when my $50 cell phones were busted, I was screwed. Why not ensure that your phone is not only going to have every feature known to man, but has technology that is nearly flawless?

Ok, so it sounds great and all, but how much loot are you gonna have to shell out for this bad boy? Well, it’s pretty darn pricey.

The 4GB is priced at $499 and the 8GB is priced at $599.

Hefty as the price tag may sound, in consideration of the multiple technologies that the iPhone encompasses, this cell piece really is a deal — a worthwhile investment for a girl just starting her career or a college student on the go.

So start saving ladies, this one looks like a winner.

The Morning After: The Pooper

When I was a sophomore I lived in a quad in my sorority house. That meant 4 girls, 45 pairs of jeans and over 100 pairs of shoes stuffed into a very tiny space. With bunk beds. The close quarters were an issue when any sort of studying had to get done or heavy drinking was going down (“Dude, there is not enough room in here for you to do the worm…”), but we made it work most of the time.
