The Bitch Does it Again! Avril’s 2nd song controversy

Poor, poor Avril. Looks like you better stop giving the finger to the paparazzi and start coming up with more distinct bass lines.

According to Perezhilton, another song on Avril’s new CD The Best Damn Thing is sounding mighty familiar. The first 20 seconds of Lavigne’s song I Don’t Have To Try sounds almost identical to I’m The Kinda by Canadian rocker Peaches.

Recently, the Rubinoos’s (the first band to call Avril a thief) claim over Avril’s Girlfriend was refuted by the pop/punk (but mostly pop) princess’s manager, when he pulled a quote off their myspace page that claims they were also ripped off by “the Rasberries, the Beach Boys, the Beatles.”

Listen to both songs after the jump and let us know if you think Lavigne is simply being bullied or should consider changing her name to Vanilla Avril.

These two songs sound more similar than the whole “Girlfriend” thing, but I still think they’ve got no chance in court

Yeah I agree with but Currin but Devin u ain’t gota clue! Avril’s Song is alot more up tempo in terms of her voice and although it sounds quite similar you CAN tell the differnce and thats what matters!!

Its not like tryin’ ta distinguish the beat/tempo of twinkle twinkle little and the alphabet song cuz the both da bloody same!!! Wheras theses two tracks are noticably different

clearly … if you listen to the beats..they are not the same..

one is 2,

and the other is traight 1-2-3-4 beats…

of course the singing is similar, a lot of songs have to be similar or pretty soon ,wed run out of songs..its not the big deal everyomnes making it to be..so just drop it

When you’re confined to such a rigid set of rules like “rock”, or “pop” things are going to start sounding the same. With the labels it’s always been “whatever makes the teenage girls sing along”. Young man with a horn said it, and that movie was made in the 50’s.

everyone is over reacting…u can hear that the beat isnt that much the same. and if we didnt have any two songs that sounded the same then we would have ran out of songs a while ago.
