First of all, this isn't just cake box mix with cheap beer added into it. These aren't desserts designed to get you buzzed or drunk but actual creations made to be savored and enjoyed. The beer used isn't the typical cheap light beers found at frat parties but quality beers which are carefully selected to enhance the flavor of the dessert.

Second of all, the amount put into these is very moderate to prevent the beer flavor from being too overwhelming. It's merely subtle flavoring. The calories added by the beer doesn't even compare to all of the calories and fat added by butter, shortening, eggs, etc.

Third, it's not just beer that leads to weight gain. Most weight gain is due to the snacking and eating associated with beer and the lack of physical activity

So get you facts right and then post something more meaningful.
Not all college students are gluttonous idiots

if you knew the first thing about beer, you would shut your trap, it is not a fad, infact the Belgians have a good grip on it, if you knew about beer you would know why too. ABout adding calories, do you think heavy cream and eggs, or beer is healthier? in recipies (once again, you must not cook either) beer replaces items suck as these... you should try it sometime.

The key with beer as a food accompaniment is moderation, that and knowing the nutritional values of beer. As you might know, current Alcohol, Tobacco, Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) regulations only allow that kind of information on beers that make a claim of being lower in calories and carbohydrates than their fuller-bodied big brothers, i.e., Bud vs. Bud Light.
