Man Makeup: Yes or No?
February 7, 2008 Posted in Body
When I woke up this morning and looked in the mirror – at my blotchy skin, the dark circles under my eyes – I thanked God for my drawer filled with makeup. It’s amazing what a little concealer and black eyeliner can do for a girl. Sometimes even I can’t believe the daily before and after transformation to my face.
I almost feel bad for the men in the world who wake up every day and have to take that face out into the world. They don’t have the luxury of covering up that zit or the evidence of a late night out at the bar.
Until now, that is.
It has been rumored that Clinique will be adding to their Clinique M line; their products for men. Instead of their usual face scrubs and moisturizers to prevent problems, the newest additions will include products to cover problems.
Yes, ladies, Clinique is making male foundation!
It makes sense; knowing how much of a difference (or miracle if you see what I look like in the morning) a little foundation can make on a bare face, it is only fair to give guys a chance. Why should they have to flaunt all their imperfections to the world? Giant, glowing red zits look good on no one; shouldn’t we all have the chance to cover them up?
Apparently, dude make-up is nothing new. Studio5ive has an entire line of makeup for men that includes everything from Sport and Sun Tone Enhancer (bronzer) to Lash and Brow Gel (mascara), and even an Eye Shader (eye shadow).
You may find the idea of men in makeup completely repulsive (“Its too weird for me!” says my friend), but I just don’t know.
First of all, rock stars have been wearing eye-liner for years and girls still fawn all over them. And wouldn’t you rather look at a fresh and clean looking face than one covered in bumps, zits and acne scars?
In an age where a woman can run for president, why can’t a man wear a little cover-up?

This is honestly, great.
I'm a guy, and I wear makeup like any other person,
if I feel like it yes, if I don't, no.
People shouldn't be sexist,
The only reason people think it's weird
is because its taught to us as children,
but if you really think about it,
makeup is just a mixture of materials
that is put on ones face.
