I studied other forms of dance for many years — ballet, jazz, Salsa, and more — and have found that belly dance is the most complex and interesting form of dance. Even though I have studied and taught it for a long time, I will continue to study it for the rest of my life, because there is so much to learn, and it is constantly evolving. Try it!

I've always wanted to learn bellydance so I was super excited when Fit Tv started the Shimmy series. Which is a great alternative if theres no bellydance classes offered in your area(or if your too broke.) Some lessons are a bit difficult for beginners and probably don't explain the movements as well as they would be if you took a class but considering you can tape episodes and practice in the comfort of your own home (I myself am shamefully uncoordinated so this part is awesome.)it's definitely worth checking out.
