Amy, did you ever stop to think about the fact that the strippers in the strip club have COMPLETE AND TOTAL CONTROL over the male patrons who go there? The patrons can’t touch the strippers unless SHE GIVES THEM PERMISSION, which means she can pick and choose exactly which guys she does or doesn’t want to touch her. Furthermore, the stripper has control over the guys emotions and hormones. Her “act” is what turns the guy on and makes him horny, he is lusting after her, but she doesn’t have to have anything to do with him if she doesn’t want.

Basically, a strip club is a place where guys go and pine over girls that they likely will never even be able to touch. How does that give a guy a sense of “control” over the female body? The STRIPPER has control over the mans body in this case.

Bullshit! total Bullshit! Im in control of any and all of the girls in the club! IM not a good looking guy,overweight and not a prize by any means, but the girls (the best looking ones) fight over me! I been going for over 2 years now to 4 clubs in the area, and by all means : Im in total control of the chicks,in fact the longest it took to get their phone number has been 2 days and most are mine in 10 minutes. any GIRL,even the married ones!And yes I date them outside the club. Its so easy.

If the desire to attend is so primal, arguing that men’s expression to look at naked female bodies is biological, then why wouldn’t they just choose one of the many different venues available to look at naked women? Such as, sleep with a real one!

A man’s desire to go to a strip club has nothing to do with the naked female body itself, but rather his control over it. It re-enforces masculizing practices by contiually asserting authority over women. It re-asserts our societies need for masculine domination.

Your willingness to now accept strip clubs is most likely your desire to gain acceptance from the oppisite sex. Magazines like Cosomopolitan and the like do the same thing. They showcase how young women can be attractive by a MANS standards.

And let’s think about who is ‘really-in-charge’ here. The majority of strip clubs are male owned and dominated. Yes, men but be lame for going to a strip club, and wasting their money on a lap dance, but it is the sex industry and society that has deemed these sex acts profitable. If strip clubs weren’t profitable, then the women wouldn’t go there to find jobs.

Strip clubs do nothing but re-enforce social inequality, showing women as objects and commodities. The women dancing in the strip clubs are not ‘embracing their-own sexuality’. They are showcasing their body in a way that is appealing to a man’s standards. Men have SET THE STANDARDS for what makes a woman attractive and sexually desireable. It’s called living in a patriarchal, male-dominated society. The strippers in the club are taking advantage, and banking off that fact.

If the women were truley embracing THEIR OWN sexuality, then they would be getting pleasure in return, owning their bodies, by having sex with an actual partner. Embracing your sexuality does not mean being paid to put on act of submission to the male, for his fantasy and own purposes.

Your arguments for strip clubs are conventional and tainted by what society thinks you should think, and male made standards. I agree with the posting, it is time to wake up and realize what is really going on here. Try taking some women’s studies classes.

And I don't know about you, but when I give my boyfriend a blow job I feel completely in control, I get pleasure from getting him off, which is probably the case for a lot of strippers, they likely get pleasure out of seeing how much they can turn a guy on, and just what little they have to do to have him at her feet. Yes, they're objectifying their bodies, but they WANT to do it. They are getting paid to have guys crawl at their feet and think they're hot, it's an ego boost I'm sure.

And sorry, but I agree with the "male standards of attractiveness" or whatever. I don't think fat is attractive and so I don't find "thick" girls hot. I think the slender and toned female body is amazing. And that's not because of society, it's because it's what I, and most people, actually find appealing.

So get off your high horse and stop thinking you know why everyone thinks the way they do, cause everyone thinks differently and for very different reasons.

don't get me wrong, i dont lok down to either person, but i have more respect for the person who is really in charge.
