All in all, I must say obstaining is more beneficial for women of today. Why well for one as mentioned above sex is an emotional connection between two. However in most cases a man can move forward and brush off the experience (score!). Whereas for women sex is more of an investment, because the biggest thing a women can give to a man is her body and for a man its his time (forever. Marriage). Yes I understand that abstaining should be a choice but its also not just for the “pure virgins”. Any women or man willing to push the boundaries in order to attain a stronger and promising relationship, whether its through abstinence or just having standards should be applauded. And please women DO NOT JUDGE one another as what may work for you may not work for another. Just be happy for the success of anothers life time commitments.

In my opinion i believe that every womem has a right of what they should do. Men should not pressure them into having sex. We should realise it is them who makes us have an enjoyable life. Thank you ladies.

it is to each their own.fate/life..throws u a curve ball each time. i don't pass judgement on anybody. sad to say, the world is not as forgiving.there is this unwritten rule u have to follow the stereo typical lifestyle. ignorance of others is the challenge. try saying u don't have a sex life to everybody. in the real world, not everybody can have a sex life.disabilities.etc..all i mostly see is people cheating on their wives, with friends girlfriends.. golly, whoopee.. sheesh.. later..pain..divorce..broken friendships. over what? no self respect or control. if anyone choses no sex for whatever reason. nobody in the world has the right or qualifies to critisize u. me, i have my reasons too. i stand alone so far.so be it.

But what exactly are you supposed to be 'losing'? I personally don't ascribe any value to a persons virginity or lack thereof – and nor do the vast majority of people that i know – so i don't understand how exactly the first time that you have sex entails a loss and if it does i have no idea what it entails a loss of.

I agree with your definition of what a strong woman is. It's true. If I choose to be sexually active, I shouldn't be oppressed for that just the same way I wouldn't oppress you for choosing to abstain. Just because what I do looks wrong in your eyes, doesn't mean that I'm not thinking things through or that I'm making the right choices for myself. It's not right for someone to think bad of me bc of personal choices that I make. It's a two way street, not a one way.

i agree with christine and also i would like to point out that yes, in my opinion, marriage should mean forever. it's just that unfortunately it seems that it can't always be the case, maybe it should also be mentioned that on average people who choose to abstain from sex untill marriage have a higher percentage of failed marriages (possibly as they, on average, marry sooner).

I would just like to point out that aside from pregnancy and some disease, even if you're abstinent that does not make you immune to rape, stalking, emotional, or physical hurt. And someone who is not a virgin does not automatically receive these things more than someone who is a virgin.

The way you stated your comment, Janers, implied that only people who have sex are subject to such things. Although I'm sure it's not what you meant, it's still what I first read it as.
