This may be a bad idea... but what about rewarding your running with a treat? Kinda like the pedicure idea, but with chocolate as the reward. It also helps to have a good running playlist to get you pumped up (ie- Kanye West "Stronger", possibly the best song to run to EVER). Creating a designated "running time" in your schedule helps too, along with a running partner. Both of you should agree that every other day, no matter what, you'll meet at X time . And always try exploring new neighborhoods, new parks, new routes, etc to keep you on your toes!

Good luck from one runner to another!

Things are so easy in your head aren't they? i know I have had my moments where I picture myself running a 5k or 10k with complete ease. But the reality is it is a ton of work. So here are a couple things that have worked for me...

Set smaller goals to work up to your race... example- if you run 3 times this week you will go get a pedicure.

Get a running partner, or if that isn't possible consider investing in the nike+ipod (it is pretty amazing.)

Switch it up. Look you aren't going to want to go running every day nor do you have the time, consider doing a simple at home workout. I personally love pilates, a 20 min ab workout and trust me results are pretty kick ass.

most importantly, don't dwell if you miss a day of working out. Sure it sucks but it happens...and always have fun!
