It’s time for the week’s wackiest news stories with Kandy Korrespondent!
A South African woman has posted a list of her soon to be ex-husbands infidelities on the truck of her car in an effort to shame him into paying her maintenance (child support).
The poster reads:
“If my soon-to-be-ex-husband thinks he can:
bed down cheap women,
buy them underwear,
wine and dine them in the best restaurants,
take them on five-star holidays,
take ‘excite’ tablets for erectile dysfunction,
go out boozing each night AND not pay me my maintenance as ordered by court,
and think I will take no action, he has another thing coming.”
This woman is totally awesome!
How to Get Pot in CA—legally: In his latest Op-Ed, Joel Stein recounts his freakishly easy experience acquiring a prescription for medical marijuana (legal in CA). His illness? Anxiety, occasional insomnia, and headaches. As he states,
“The only malady that would have made me more similar to every human being throughout history would have been ‘these painful little pieces of skin that peel up next to my fingernails.’”
The doctor, who obviously had no self-respect whatsoever, gave him a 6 month prescription. He then went to the Farmacy Global Organic Medicine Westwood, to fill his prescription, where as a first-timer he got a free pot-infused lollipop.
Personally, as a strong supporter of medical marijuana for chemo patients, I find myself a bit frustrated with the mockery of the medicinal need. On the other hand, as a Californian I find myself strangely proud of such blatant subversion.
And Now in the Most-Likely-to-Win-A-Darwin-Award Category…
Two incredibly stupid men allegedly dug up a grave in Texas and removed a human skull to use it as a bong. They are being charged with corpse abuse. Thank goodness.
Bizarre World Records:
A five-year old in Mumbai, India, attempted to break a world record by roller skating under 5 cars each of which were moving 10km/hr.—100 times. Meaning that he had skated under 500 cars by the time he was through.
An Isreali barber successfully broke the world record for number of scissors used during a haircut when he recently successfully demonstrated a ten scissor hair-cut. Considering the fact that it was actually his own previous record of seven scissors, he doesn’t appear to have had much in the way of competition.
Finally, get ready for Pope Spam! In the latest attempt by the Catholic Church to enter the 21st century, the Vatican has announced that Pope Benedict XVI will send daily religious text messages to young Catholics when he attends World Youth Day in Australia.
I’ll see you on Monday — have a great weekend!
