They don't have the superpowers or have the enhancements or have all the fight training. Storm had something to do in X-Men, Kitty did eventually, Mystique did, Rouge shouldn't have been in the films at all, now once we get She-Hulk, Runaways, Black Widow, Supergirl, Wonder Woman. It'll be a different story, but only for those characters. It's not that the women are useless because of the writers, it's just the characters aren't meant to be useful in that manner. Not quite a superhero movie, but close enough. The female lead has a past, can fix cars, actually helps out in the end instead of being bait, and let's face it...she's totally hot.
