So you are saying that if Mitt Romney was as qualified as he is (and, truly, that is your claim, not mine) but he was an avowed atheist or, say, a Satanist, you would vote for him? What if he was on record as being a devoted follower of Zeus and drew great inspiration from the teachings of Zeus? You would vote for Romney based only on the fact that he is the most qualified (again by your estimation) candidate? Is that what Jesus would have you do? Secondly, you will take "most of what the bible says" and live your life that way? What qualifies you to pick and choose from among the divinely inspired word of god? After all Jesus himself declared that he did not come into the world to contradict any of the previous law (i.e., the old testament) but rather to fulfill its prophecy.

TIFFANY , SO I'M GUESSING THAT YOU MAY BE AN ATHEIST, MAYBE I SHOULDN'T CONSIDER VOTING FOR YOU IF YOU EVER BECAME A CANDIDATE FOR ANYTHING BECAUSE YOU DONT HAVE THE SAME BELIEF SYSTEM THAT I DO. ( NOT A GOOD REASON )

I OVIOUSLY HAVE A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH SOME OF THE TEACHINGS OF MY CATHOLIC RELIGION , BUT THAT DOES NOT STOP ME BEING A BETTER PERSON BECAUSE OF IT. I WILL TAKE MOST OF WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS AND LIVE MY LIFE THE WAY THAT JESUS CHRIST WOULD WANT ME TO.

BY THE WAY I AM NOT GOING TO TALK BAD ABOUT ATHEISTS , BECAUSE THE POINT IS THAT IT SHOULDN'T MATTER , WHAT MATTERS IS YOUR QUALIFICATIONS TO DO THE JOB , AND MITT ROMNEY IS THE MOST QUALIFIED PERSON THAT CAN LEAD THIS COUNTRY IN THESE HARD TIMES.

Evelio,

Interesting that you want to know what religion I follow only to discredit it. If I tell you that I am a Hindu, or a Muslim, or a Jew, or a Druid, or a Satanist, will pointing out the ridiculous notions of those "faiths" make the ridiculous notions of LDS any less ridiculous? The point is: religious beliefs which cannot withstand the light of reason are all either born of superstitions or spring from humankind's desire to explain that which it does not currently possess the knowledge to accurately explain. If you could travel in time back to the time of Christ and took an ipod with you, you could easily convince even the most intelligent person on earth (at that time) that the ipod was a gift from "God" and possessed "magical powers". Even if you have no knowledge of electronics whatsoever, I doubt you could now be made to believe that an ipod has magical powers. Just think what the smartest person on earth today doesn't know compared to a person of average intelligence 2000 years from now (assuming we haven't made the earth uninhabitable for humans by that time!). In time, if allowed to be viewed with the light of reason, all unsubstantiated religious beliefs will fall by the wayside as humankind's knowledge of the physical world and its true inner-workings becomes greater and greater. There was a time when the cause of all illness was attributed to evil spirits. I don't think many modern, thinking people would choose a trip to the witchdoctor over antibiotics prescribed by a medical doctor as a treatment for their infection. Ever increasing, fact-based knowledge is why the religious "beliefs" of one era become the literary entertainment of a later era (like Greek mythology). All of this doesn't even begin to address the role that religion has historically played in the motivation and control of a largely ignorant populace by a few powerful "religious" leaders. As cliche as it make be, it is no less true: knowledge is power-- which is why I believe it is extremely important that we consider where our leaders derive their "knowledge."

Well, in MY wildest dreams I never thought that in 2008 we would still have people running for the highest office in the land who still believe in talking snakes and magic underwear. Call me crazy, but I fail to see why faith in unreasonable belief systems somehow makes you a great person. The opposite would seem more likely. The fact that in 2008 a would-be leader's faith (or lack thereof) is so important to the masses does not bode well for the future of rational thought in the USA.

GUYS ,TO SERVE AS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES , IT SHOULDNT MATTER WHAT RELIGION YOU WORSHIP , AS LONG AS YOU ARE A GOOD DESCENT AND CAPABLE MAN. I NEVER THOUGHT IN MY WILDEST DREAMS IN THE YEAR 2008 WE WOULD NOT VOTE FOR THE BETTER PERSON SIMPLY BECAUSE HE WORSHIPS DIFFERENT THAN YOU. I AM NOT A MORMON AND I AM ASHAMED AND OFFENDED OF SOME OF YOU WHO ARE BLINDED BY HATRED OF A RELIGION YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT.

MITT ROMNEY IS NOT ONLY THE MOST QUALIFIED BUT THE BEST PERSON FOR THE JOB OF PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES , AND BECAUSE HE IS A MORMON , HE DOSENT DESERVE THE PRESIDENCY ?

SHAME ON ALL OF THE BIGOTS WHO WOULD DENY THIS GREAT MAN. I AM A CATHOLIC AND KNOW ALL I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE MAN, I TRUST HIM, AND I WOULD BE SO PROUD IF HE WAS OUR NEXT PRESIDENT.

If all three of them are meant to go together than what did you mean by telling Tiffany that Well, since I don’t know anything you are talking about, I can safely say you don’t either. Nothing you just said has anything to do with the LDS church. You are full of misinformation ? Obviously you did know what she was talking about and it wasn't misinformation.

Look, I have absolutely NO desire to talk to LDS missionaries. I butted in merely to point out the flaw in your pretentious response to her answer.

Thank you Suzie, I have read the Book of Mormon probably 30 times and just one of those things are in it. And that is the ministry of angels. It does also teach a great deal about Jesus Christ, his life and his brutal crucifixion death and exactly why He did it. It teaches that he came here to the American Continent and organized his church here after his death. It teaches how to repent and love God. It teaches the differences between pride and humility and how humility is so much better. It is a wonderful read.

I have read the Old TEstament a number of times too. What a phenomenal book. I have read the New Testament probably 30 times or so as well. I love it as well. What great teachings are there to show us how to live and how to worship. The little we know about the life of Christ is profound and can be life altering.

The Book of Mormon is a separate book from the Old and New Testaments, but when one combines all the truths combined in all 3 books, it makes for a great History of God's dealings with His children. One book alone just makes up a part of the story. The Old and New Teataments together? Again, just part of the wonderful story. But all of them together? Very enlightening and very fulfilling. I will suggest to you Suzie what I did to Tiffany. Get a hold of the LDS missionaries and get a Book of Mormon for your very own so that you can have those three parts of the story. It would be worth it. I did it and I have never for one minute regretted it. The full title of the Book of Mormon is "The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ"
