It is also true that interpersonal skills are necessary for a relationship. But when it comes to dating, the two aren't mutually exclusive. First of all, if he is someone that you're even considering giving your number to, you've probably already spent more than 15 minutes having a face-to-face conversation with him, so you can check that off your list. Secondly, I am not really a phone person, unless it's with my girl (or guy) friends and we're catching up because we haven't spoken in weeks. Otherwise, I like to keep it short and sweet, so thinking of things to say when you're "just calling to say hi" gets a bit difficult. Thirdly, I do actually like to Google people after I meet them and I think what you choose to put on your Facebook or Myspace page is a good indicator of the type of person you are. I have avoided a few bad apples that way. You get better results when you do your homework. I met a really cool girl at the after-party and kissed her goodnight. When I asked for her number, she hesitated and gave me her e-mail instead.
