For the best of both worlds just go linux. Many different versions all with different purposes waayyy more customizable than any windows or mac os, i have a mac with leopard and an Hp dual-booting windows and linux and linux is always my OS of choice sooo much faster and more secure than windows and a decent PC will cost half the price of a mac with the same specs.

I have both a MAC and a PC and I totally hate to wait for 5 minutes until my toshiba ( 150 hard drive, 2gb of RAm) decides to load. I have many pictures on both machines and my MAC still wins in the speed department besides my toshiba is more fashionable, it weights less and I have it on a customized skin so I'm just pro MAC all the way, besides The Sims runs ok in MAC

OMG you guys, I looovvvve "MMMBop" and Hanson. I went to see them in concert last fall and they were INCREDIBLE! Soooo amazing.

And Mac/PC... it's a personal choice, but in my experience, the problems I have had with PCs number in the dozen times more than the number of problems I have had with Macs. Also, I simply do not like the user interface or controls of a PC, and it's really hard to slam someone for that since it's honestly just a matter of preference. I like what I like. You can tell me all day that I shelled out months of pay for a beautiful piece of mechanical junk, but the replies to this post have echoed my sentiment that the quality is there in a big way.

Go organic food!

(I say this because I just started working in an organic foodstore, and man, their food tastes much better than other normal foodstores. Chocolate + Beetroot + Cranberry + Cake = SO GOOD)

Sure you can play with a mac, if you are ready to comprimise. Same problem with a laptop, even if you pay for the top model it still is a year behind what you could by as a tabletop. Plus you can choose your own parts and assemble the whole thing yourself so you get exactly what you want. You just cant say no to liquid cooling.

Well yes, if you use the Windows OS on a Mac then you can play whatever you want. But that's not what the other person meant. For Macs and the Mac OS, there are fewer games than for a regular PC.

I've heard of a lot of people who get Macs and then use the Windows OS or Linux. Probably a good idea for gamers that are interested in Macs.

And OMG MmmBop! I just listened to that the other day and remembered how ridiculously wonderful that song is. Now it's stuck in my head. Damn.

The iPod is the greatest thing to ever happen to my life. With an auxiliary jack in my car I never have to worry about having to have a hundred different CDs in there to fit my mood. Sometimes on a roadtrip you just want to rock out to "MmmBop"...ya know?

I own a Dell laptop and desktop and I've used a PowerMac G5 for two years to produce yearbooks. I really don't see what the huge deal with Macs are.

I've never had to buy anti-virus software or worry about my 512 MB of RAM running everything smoothly. I rarely scan for spyware and this baby has been going for 6 years now with little to no problems.

If you want the full "my computer sucks because I'm a poor user" experience, try not turning on your Windows provided firewall and go download some "free" file sharing software. Then in the midst of everything breaking just go ahead and forget that there is a help file and an internet full of millions of users who have likely already experienced your bug and solved it.

And if you don't believe that Macs are infallible go ahead and look for the Apple Support Forums -- full of ignorant people or those who simply own broken iThings.
