In my opinion, this won’t help a lot. So let’s analyze this: Rapex company makes a campaign to get everybody aware of this device that supposedly protect women from being “rape with force sexual intercourse”. Then if everybody is aware of this device, do you really think that rapist would just stick their penis in the woman’s vagina? I don’t think so! They’d probably knock out the girl first either by using a date rape drug or by physical force like cover the girl’s face so she’ll stop breathing unconciously. Then the rapist would stick a dildo first and see if she has this Rapex device. Then now what? The rapist can pull it out then continue, or go for “anal sex”. Then would she also put a Rapex in her ass? Another thing is for a couple. What if they forgot that the wife has it on coz they both got drunk and tried to have sex? That would be so embarrasing to the doctor and can cause waste of time like if they have something important to do like work or an important appointment. See the complication? Not recommended. Ladies, try to learn self defense which is way better !

I'm wondering what the difference is between this and carrying around mace? It seems just another form of self-protection. And I don't see how it reduces the value of females in society? Maybe because I'm a guy, I'm missing something, but it seems like if someone lives somewhere dangerous, having mace is the same idea, of preventing an attack, and given mace is expected, this could be another deterrent/safety. The idea of rape disgusts me, especially to someone I love, and if they were able to protect themselves somehow, I don't know why having something like this objectifies women, or somehow turns it into "she was asking for it" ideas. And as far as Tu's comment about "dont put yourself in a situation where you can get raped" what a ridiculous statement. Unbelievably ignorant. more here
