@ j-NYC;

I always had this problem. Now not so much. I know the "type of fit" jeans that look good on me. fitted/skinny good for shortys. I avoid boot cut opr wide-leg paints. Certain brands of jeans are on point with my body's type that i'm devoted.

At 14, I was deathly afarid of fitting rooms, suggest the words "Bathing Suit Season." and I might just start hyper ventalating. Till this day. Even though i've shaped up and admire my body for what it is now, i avoid fitting rooms. Knowing my size, what looks good on me, and brands that work best keeps shopping fun.

I figured out tricks my girlfriends told me to get the perfect fit without the use of dressing rooms.

-WARNING : YOU MIGHT LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT. Wrap the waist band of your jeans around your neck, holding the two seamlines together. If the two ends of the waistbands meet comfortable around your neck. Doesn't meet? Too small. Too loose? too big.

-Line the seam line of the bottoms up to the bottoms you are already wearing. Matching seam line? Perfect fit.

I just hate that nothing good comes in my large shoe size, and I can never find my size in all those cute bras that most girls wear.

And that shopping takes so freaking long.

Well I'm almost 5'10 and used to hate shopping for jeans (they were always too short or would shrink in the dryer) until I started dishing out a little extra cash...

Victoria's Secret has great jeans and some actually go all the way to 36" inseams! (for tall girls like me) But you have to watch out because generally you'll run a smaller size in theirs than other places, I can pull a 4 there when I wear a 6-8 at American Eagle!

Also, VS has some wonderful bras for smaller cups like myself, that don't have underwire if you dont like them! Plus they come in tons of cute colors and patterns!

I hate shopping. It obliterates my self esteem. I like getting my jeans from Goodwill though. Something about being worn in helps them fit nicely.

I love going shopping initially but I'll admit that I get really self-concious when I start trying on clothes. I agree with Olua that when the biggest size doesn't fit it's a blow to my self esteem, but I do understand that I need to feel good in whatever I want to wear and not worry about the number.

BUT it's hard for me to find pants that fit. My body is unusual. I'm very short but also very wide. My waist is wide but my legs are bit smaller so if I buy pants that fit in the waist they're baggy everywhere else. It's terrible! I wish I could find pants that fit me correctly without paying an arm and a leg! It doesn't help that even the pants that are "short" are still too long for me.

I totally didn't realize I wasn't some freak for getting depressed when I go shopping! I'm so bony that everything looks horrible on me. I'm glad that I'm not the only girl who feels bad shopping...I wonder if that makes me a bad person? Lol.

How awful, to think my image problems have become a statistic.

This is why I prefer shopping online. It's really helped me come to terms with what will fit me and what won't, instead of having to try on a frillion different things and absolutely hating myself by the end of the day. Go the internet!

When you're short...and RIGHT IN BETWEEN a size 4 and 6...nothing. ever. fits.

I promise you. I have so many pairs of ill-fitting jeans...too tight, too long, too loose...

I'm one of those girls who get depressed. I'll admit it flat out.
