I have been in that exact situation I've lost a friend by "stealing" her love interest. To make matters worse she was my roomate. It was hard at first but my relationship with my boyfriend has been much more rewarding then my friendship with her ever was. Me and the boy have been together for a year now and i am no longer friends with her. Granted it was an ugly mess and this girl was out to make my life miserable for a while. It was tough but i totally agree- sometimes you have to care about youself more then others if you want to be happy.

I disagree with Jennifer that guys always give up a girl to hold onto their friendships. My brother's friends would CONSTANTLY ditch each other to hang out with a girlfriend. Constantly. Ultimately, it's ended in my brother not talking to the flaky friends even after they'd been really close for years.

You know what?? I think your absolutley right. I had one experience where one of my good friends was in a slump with her own boyfriend and i was really into this guy and we were talking or whatever, we both felt the same way. Anywho one day at the mall we all were there, me, her, him and 2 other cool dudes, we go to the food court and all of them sit down at this 4 person table and she finishes her order before i do and when I get back, she's there. Stting right next to MY man, all giggly and talkity. I look at her and she's like, "oh do you want to sit somewhere else?" WTF idiot hello, duh, like get the fuck up. COuldn't she have the courtesy to at least sit at a diff table so we could sit together, even i wouldnt have done tht because numbers were uneven, I wouldnt have ha her sit somewhere else…she's a sketchy one, but guys will always choose their guys over a girl, esp if its not tht serious, which is the prob with girls too, even when things are in the waaaayy erly stages, we will give up friends in a heartbeat to see what could happen with the boy…:/
