Weird Foods You’ll Never Admit to Eating But Totally Love
September 8, 2008 Posted in Body
There’s some foods that naturally go together. Like peanut butter and jelly. Or fries and ketchup. No one makes a weird gagging sound when they see you chowing down on some cheese and crackers. But sometimes chips and salsa gets boring and you realize that you crave something a little…more interesting.
Sure, people may run away screaming in horror, but there are just some weird food combinations that you can’t help but want. Stop hiding out in your bedroom dipping the pretzels in frosting; embrace that delicacy! (Seriously – that sh*t is good!) Your friends probably have some weird cravings too.
Gross Foods That Are Actually Delicious
1. Ketchup With Everything. To me, ketchup is its own food group. And while I slather this tomato paste on fries, hamburgers, and hotdogs, I like eating the stuff with mashed potatoes too. My friends think it’s disgusting and can’t stand to watch me eat it, but ketchup and mashed potatoes together are seriously delicious (and it is not that far off from putting that stuff on fries!). I have also seen people put ketchup in chicken noodle soup and or those who slather it on a slice of pizza. Delish.
2. Unnatural Dippers. One time when my friends and I were drunk we began a rabid scavenger hunt throughout the house in search of food. Since none of us could drive (drinking and driving is always a no), we were forced to eat whatever we could find. In this case it was some Teddy Grahams and McDonald’s barbeque sauce. We could have used the excuse “Oh, I was drunk” when we found the leftovers on the counter the next morning, but instead we just dug right in again. And it was still good. Also good: chocolate chips in salsa and just about anything dipped in buttercream.
3. Anything That Can be Made Into a Sandwich. I think my sandwich eating habits are pretty normal. I occasionally dip tuna salad sandwiches in ketchup, but that’s about it. My boyfriend, however, loves putting roasted peppers and cheese on a bagel sandwich. I’ve also seen people mix tuna sandwiches (delicious) with peanut butter (not so delicious), and someone even pour a Wendy’s Frosty onto her hamburger. I haven’t really tried the last one, but Frosty=good, so how bad could that be?
Now that I’ve admitted to some weird eating habits think what you want about them, but don’t knock it till you try it. With an extra side of ketchup.
What are some of the weird foods you love?

Mine isn't so bad, but I'm a huge junkie. So when it comes to chips, I eat it with everything. For breakfast, I have a buttered roll with sour cream & onion chips inside (so awesome!). For lunch I sometimes have a tuna sandwich, and when the insides spill out I scoop them up with original lays chips. Even for dessert, I love Haagen Daaz strawberry ice cream spooned on to Lays original chips, yum!!
It doesnt end there, when I'm at the movies, I HAVE to order nachos with cheese and popcorn. Nacho chip + cheese + popcorn buttery goodness = Heaven!!!!! =)
My ex tops it all! He has to have mayonnaise on his pizza [gag]. He takes a dallop of that and smears it across a slice [gag, again]. I can't watch him eat sometimes without getting sick!

I put peanut butter on everything. PB and oranges has got to be the best combo though. The combination of stickyness and juice is delish.

In the dining halls, I used to throw 5 different kinds of cereal into one bowl. My friends thought it was weird and gross…I say: AMAZING.

my friends always started out skeptical, but when they tried it-they became hooked!
can also be put on a bagel. or wrapped in a tortilla.

I personally don't think this is too weird, but tonight I made "weiner wings". You take a piece of bread, and put a piece of cheese on it. Then place a hot dog/ veggie dog along a diagonal part of the bread, so there are 2 triangles on either side. Fold them up and maybe stick them up with a toothpick, and toast until the hotdog is all warm and sizzly. Mmm, weiner wings
Also, omelette with tofu, garlic powder, thai seasoning, and alfalfa sprouts on a bagel. MMM.

Rachel, thats not weird at all. When I was little my grandma used to make me these for me a little differently. Take a hotdog and cut a slit down the middle. The fill it with cheese (and sometimes bacon). And wrap it up in a crescent roll then bake til golden. Delish! I make these today with veggie dogs and veggie bacon.

Diana, OMG, I *love* chip sandwiches. Or well, I call them crisp sandwiches. Haha. It’s such a throwback to being five again. Sigh.

A few years back, I had lots of of brother's firends living at my house and they were sloppy and gross, but I loved them and I learned alot from them, but one of them taught me about the BEST pop-tart topping ever!
take strawberry poptarts (without icing) and toast them, then add butter and half a slice of cheese on each poptart. all my friends think im crazy for it, but its really amazing!

Wow, this makes me feel incredibly gross. Peanut butter and garlic pickle sandwiches are so good…but I only eat them when no one else is around to gawk.
I also like to put ketchup and hot sauce in my mac & cheese or ramen noodles. So good.

I'll eat any ice cream with Fritos. It's amazingly tasty. I'll also take the cup of Ramen noodles, and drain all the liquid out of them, and then put barbecue sauce and shredded cheese. Mmmm.
Or cook hot dogs, but a slice of cheese on them and melt the cheese in the microwave, and pour ketchup on them. I put chips/fries on my burgers, and I eat pizza with pickle wedges.
Well dammit now I'm hungry. lol

My uncle taught me this one, Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwhich with onions! I know it sounds terrible, but its one of the most amazing things I've ever eaten.
Also, I'm a huge peanut butter fan but I love spicy things with it, like spicy nacho Doritos or those spicy Cheetos with a peanut butter sandwhich. It's wonderful
