I think it's a matter of personal style. How boring or how much would you hate it when every other girl you see is wearing the same things you are!? Or have the same style (aka A&F/Hollister/AE)!? I would hate it. So I wear what I like and I get a ton of compliments and I get a ton of "WTF are you wearing" and it doesn't matter because I am comfortable with who I am and what I wear. Cool. I do wear gladiators and red plaid pants and i wear scarves in the summer with tank tops and i wear high waisted shorts and mini skirts and tights that are two different colours (each leg one) and some other typical shit like ripped jeans, skinny jeans, tshirts and converse.

I wear scarves for a few good reasons in the summer.

1. Sun protection. I'm pale as a ghost and they protect my neck, and more if so needed.

2. Rain. Rain is random here in Boston and I hate umbrellas. I only really worry about my hair getting wet anyways, so a scarf is perfect.

3. Theaters. Or really any place I know has an overpowered air conditioner.

Its less about fashion for me, and more about functionality because of my grandmother's pale skin, always cold genes that I luckily received.

I agree completely with Nat. Its not like the scarves are heavy fleece or knit- there's nothing wrong with a light silk scarf, because the point of those are to accessorize, not to keep warm. And I made a vow to myself I'd never wear leggings. I'm sorry, but in my opinion a long shirt that barely covers the ass + tight leggings in ridiculous colors looks soooooo white trash to me

I kind of like the scarf trend. I don't think it's that bad, actually, they're cute if done right. Granted, I wouldn't wear one when it's 90 degrees and humid outside, but as the weather gets cooler/less humid, I approve.

However, I do HATE the leggings trend. No. No. No. No.

What kills me about the headbands is when they slide up on a girl's (or guy's) head, bringing the hair up top with it, creating a perfectly moronic-looking mushroom head.

Really, that's cool? Sigh...

This is one of those columns by a hetero girl for hetero girls in which the presumed target, (hetero boys), is ignored.
No matter how "in fashion" it is, I cannot stand to see a girl walking around wearing leggings as pants.

Ew. No one wants to see the front of those things, and unless you have the lower body of a VS model, they do not look flattering on you.

Let's leave the spandex bottoms for the volleyball players... eek.

I agree with the kitten heel. Either give me four inches or nothing at all. It's like a shoe that can't commit. And who needs that!
