In the speech he made in July, (I believe it was this month), he said that he beleived things were going well (as people lost their homes, gas prices continued to skyrocked, food prices shot up, etc). And after the banks and corporations start to go bankrupt, Bush makes a speech where he says "I have come to realize there is an economic problem" (paraphrasing). Come to realize? COME TO REALIZE? Dear God he is not in touch with this country at all.
