Fringe Boots: Fashion Heads to the Wild West

boots.jpgIn an effort to personally stimulate the economy, I went on a mini shopping spree at the mall on Sunday. What can I say? Fall fashion is here and I need to get my hands on it. The must-haves for the season were everywhere: wide leg trousers, gray oversized sweaters, those damn booties….

And suede boots with fringe.

Dude, WTF is up with footwear this year?! I am usually pretty good at keeping up with the trends, but this one totally surprised and baffled me. Fringe? On a suede boot?

I know that I swore I would never understand the whole Ugg phenomenon – and then went out and bought 2 pairs – but this is a look I really don’t get. What does one wear with a boot full of fringe? What kind of look is this? And don’t people get worried about getting caught in escalators?

Am I alone in this?

The Fringe Boot: Yay or Nay?

I saw a girl yesterday with some of the red-ish brown colored ones but they were ankle boots, with a much much fuller fringe going on.

fringe isn’t that new of a concept i bought a pair that are prettier than those last year and they lasted be thru the winter (but suede doesn’t really fair well in chicago snow).

Ew I saw a girl in my class this morning wearing boots very similar to those with a mini skirt. It was just plain ugly.

These are no where near as bad as Uggs/Crocs, both of which are fine if worn for comfort (and well-hidden under some pants), but fashion…um, no. I don’t know if I’d buy these, but at least they are sleek and look like shoes rather than the above mentioned atrocities. They sort of look like extended mocasins.

I love the fringe boot, just bought some steve maddens yesterday, but have no idea what to wear with them. Im thinking skinny jeans and a big sweater, when it gets cold enough. Any other ideas.

The CC Weekly Weigh In: Let’s Say Thanks

Like most families, mine gathers around the dinner table on Thanksgiving and (after making fun of each other for a few minutes) shares what they are most thankful for that year. Growing up, I hated this tradition; it was so cheesy and lame. But now that I’m an adult, going around the table at Thanksgiving allows me to tell my family how much I love them…
