Hi! I clean small offices and love it, but I have enrfids who do residential so I will try to help you. You usually do not need a business license to get started, they are used to open a business bank account and so the government can try to squeeze money out of you. that said, you should call your local city or county clerk s office and check to see if a license or permit is required (note the word required). Some cities and towns now require a permit to do this type of service. If it isn t required, you can wait until you need a bank account. You really need to get some liability insurance or a bond. It doesn t need to be for much, but it will protect you from claims (usually false) of damage or theft. he insurance company will take care of those claims and generally they never have to pay out because your customer has to prove it was you that did it. The price for this insurance varies a lot from one company to another, so call as many insurance agencies as you can and get quotes for the least amount available. You can increase it later. Now, sit down and make a list of why your services are superior to other cleaners. Use this list and make up an eye catching flier. Post these in places like gyms and country clubs (one of my enrfids has had great luck getting customers this way).I have tons of more tips and resources on my Squidoo lens about starting a cleaning business. The link is in my Profile.Best of luck to you! Was this answer helpful?
