Whether she was talking about this nation’s plethora of hot guys, or everyone’s favorite group of drinks, at 9:10PM this evening, Sarah Palin inadvertently gave CC a new descriptive phrase to throw around the office at every possible moment.
We knew something good would come out of tonight’s debate.

“Shout out”…a “shout out”?! Really?
I normally refuse to jump on the Republican-bashing bandwagon, but come on: this is a freaking debate, not TRL.
This catchphrase, to me, is the Robin to “Joe Six-Pack”’s Batman.

She is so shameless. “No, I don’t want to answer your question. I’d like to substitute my own topic instead. Lets discuss watermelon and hula hoops!”
I agree, Regina. A shout out isn’t quite appropriate during a VP debate. Why not wave a big neon sign that says “Hi Mom!”
She’s a hot mess.

SHOUT – OUT!
WHO WANTS EXTRA CREDIT?

the next time i hear the word maverick coming out of someone’s mouth they get a swift kick to the crotch, dern it!

My biggest issue was her “Her reward is in heaven” comment. WAYYYY inappropriate, honestly. I can’t believe she even went there!
And yeah, basically everyone I was with HAD to laugh at “Joe Six-Pack” regardless of the political beliefs in the room. I mean, how can you not…seriously!

PLEASE no more mention of being mavericks. I’m going to puke.

Isn’t Joe 6 Pack a little condescending? I mean, it is a little rude to call the middle class random people with drinking problems.

I would have liked for her to be more of a business woman but I guess from past debates and polls you need to be more “likable” and more like “middle america”. But over all I think she did a great job. Just look at the facts on line and see how Biben said at least 10 things that were not true. Biden has been in Senate for at least 30 plus years. What has he done?? I guess its cool to be on the Obama bandwagon but get serious. Talk about experience Sarah runs an entire state. She has to balance billions of dollars of budgets and makes excutive decisions. Obama was in Senate for 135 days before he left to start campaigning.
Lauren, University of Michigan says:

Her entire state has like 5 people in it. And she somehow managed to balance that budget with a tanning bed in her home? COME ON!

So what has Obama run? I’m not asking what he has or has not voted on? Or should I say voted present. Do you know what that even means? Nearly 130 times, he couldn’t make a decision. He couldn’t figure out whether to vote “yes” or “no.” He voted “present.” He choose not to vote YES or NO. Come on!! Our Commander in Chief does not get to say, hey I cant vote on this. When you are governor or Mayor you dont get to vote “present”. You make decisions. Seriously!! Stop listening to your college professors, CNN and Hollywood. She is running for VP and she still has more experience than Obama. I also honestly think she will not be bullied by Washington and will stand on her own two feet. Unlike Obama and Biden, they vote only with their party sides (or present). She will work with anyone that will make a difference and McCain already has proved he works with both sides of the party and isnt afraid to cross lines.

lee-
i’m sorry if you disagree with Obama and Biden, but to say that Biden’s 30 years in the senate have been ineffective is an absolutely ridiculous claim. Biden created VAWA, one of the most important pieces of legislation stopping violence against women. He has served on both the Senate Judiciary and Foreign Relations Committees.
Please don’t make uninformed statements like that, they’re dangerous.
Little J says:

And as for Obama, he cosponsored the Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act, the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act, the Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security, and Democratic Promotion Act, and the Deceptive Practices and Voter Intimidation Protection Act. Other pieces of legislation that he’s passed have helped to create transparency in federal spending (so you can see where your money goes).
He has been a member of the Senate Foreign Relations, Environment and Public Works, Veterans’ Affairs, Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committees.
Again, please try to stay informed.

Please don’t try and pretend that Obama has a lifetime of experience because we all know that is just flat out not true. Just because Alaska doesn’t have a large population doesn’t mean that Palin didn’t have the same duties as someone who had the same position in a larger state. She still RAN something, did the budget, etc.
But the media’s obsession with Obama, as well as the younger voters, just means that people don’t want to see that. If you’re claiming inexperience on Palin’s part, then take a long hard look at Obama.

Oh well, the way I see it, we’re fucked either way…
I’m not really impressed with any of the candidates. I mean seriously, as far as who is the most qualified person in this country to run for President?
If it wasn’t shrouded ni dirty politics, I bet there are 20-30 people who easily top all of these guys.
Our government has gone to shit. Pick the lesser of two evils, but neither one is going to fix all of our problems… geez.

And from an Independent perspective-
Obama’s extremely smart and a true well-meaning person, fights corruption and helps the poor, but doesn’t have the support of the country. He has too many rumors surrounding him, whether they are true or not, and nobody takes the time to look up the truth on anything. And he’s green.
Biden’s a good senator- he’s done a lot in his 30 years, but he’s not particularly outstanding when compared to anyone else. He’s shown really good character during the loss of his family and I believe that sets him in the same “relating to middle America” class as Palin.
John McCain is a great war hero- but not very experienced on economy or anything like healthcare reform or energy, so he’s severly lacking as well. He has a temper problem but I haven’t seen any evidence of it since he began campaigning.
Sarah Palin has a nice aggressive attitude (plus she’s hot) so people like her and feel she’s no- nonsense. Yet while she’s tackled a few reforms, she has no knowledge of foreign policy (or anything other than energy, it seems.) I do like her personality, but she’s even greener than green. She’s still yellow. Plus she references everything to religion. And that scares the shit out of me…

Its not a question of experience. Its a question of platform and judgement. John Mccain stole Obama’s campaign slogan of “Change” despite offering a similar platform to that of Bush’s. His other slogan is “country First” yet he panders to Women with the choice of Plain as opposed to the Economic expert, Mitt Romney.
Obama and Plain are inexperienced but Obama posesses a much clearer understanding of what is needed to run America. Sarah Palin does not even know what Newspaper she reads. Right wingers will convine themselves that she can help run a country but this is truly America at its worst.

You just said that Obama is inexperienced..yet you’re going to vote for him? Palin is running as the VP candidate, while Obama is running for PRESIDENT. I’m glad you think someone who is inexperienced will do a great job at running a country.
