[Do you ever feel like you can’t pull something off? Have trendy pieces in your closet that you would never have the courage to actually wear out? Well take those pieces out, shake off the dust, and continue reading!
In this series, I will choose a different piece that can be difficult to incorporate into an outfit and give you ideas on how to wear it. If there’s anything you would like to read about in the future, please leave a comment!]
Previously worn only by tattooed biker chicks, leather jackets have become a must-have item for fall. Stylish and comfortable, the leather jacket is the perfect substitute for that tired North Face fleece.
Although they are a little bit pricey, leather jackets are a worthwhile investment since there are so many different ways to rock them. The above crop leather motorcycle jacket from Victoria’s Secret is $198, but it works with so many outfits that it will be a splurge you won’t regret.
Here are four ways to rock the leather jacket:
The Classic Leather Jacket Look
Over a white shirt and jeans. Clean, crisp, cool. For an extra kick, throw on a pair of black booties. Tres chic!

Raglan Top, Express, $24.50. 77 Straight Jean, American Eagle Outfitters, $29.50. Shoes, Nicole Bitter at Piperlime.com, $89.
Rocker Chic
Pair a graphic tee with grey skinny pants, rock the LJ (leather jacket) and you’ve completed this look.

Tee, Forever 21, $12.80. Jeans, PacSun, $39.50. Shoes, Fitzwell at Zappos.com, $65.
Feminine
Dresses are cute, but sometimes they need a little oomph. Give some edge to a cute dress by layering with feminine pieces and, of course, the rockin’ leather jacket.

Dress, Tempted at Macy’s, $33. Necklace, Aldo, $15. Boots, Aldo, $130.00.
Glammed Up
A minidress with leggings and heels is perfect for a night out on the town. But since it’s getting a little chilly at night lately, throw on a leather jacket for warmth and extra style.

Minidress, AmiClubWear, $19.99. Leggings, Arden B, $28.00. Bangle, Aldo, $8.

I've always thought leather jackets look stupid on me.
Like…can't only tough chicks wear them?

It's not the same one – I just looked up "leather jacket" on google image search and that one came up. I wanted a standalone jacket so that I could put it next to the clothes. The website I got it from didn't have any information on where it was from or what brand it was or anything though.

I love my brown leather jacket from The Gap ($198, but I got it on ridiculous sale for like $40 from an outlet store), but I've only had the nerve to where it when riding with my boyfriend on his street bike…
Any other time it just feels a little too tomboyish, but I'm taking it to get tailored with some other clothes soon, and hopefully that'll make it look nicer for wearing out!

I bought a leather jacket in gray and i was wondering if itll be too much to wear a leather bag along with it like doctor/messenger bag style ALSO in gray..? and what kind material of handbag are you supposed to wear with a leather jacket for a casual day look?

You could definitely rock a leather bag with a leater jacket, but in the same color? It may look too matchy matchy.

If you're worried about look tomboyish or "too tough", buy one that fits you! There are a lot of nice women's leather jackets that are fitted properly for women. You'd have to shop around to get your size, but buying a women's leather jacket like the one shown would not look tomboyish at all. But get a shapeless/too big for you one? It won't look as nice.

I just bought a brown leather jacket from Maurices, of all places! I love it, I feel like a total badass in it.. I don't care that I'm so..NOT a badass. They don't know that I didn't just get off my crotchrocket!

I just bought one from urban outfitters (the one with the hoodie), very fitted and feminine looking. Its backordered till November in the website except for the xs size and I wear an xs so I got lucky.

What about coloured leather? I got a beautiful jacket in powder blue but I have no idea what to wear it with. Obviously black is the simplest option, but what happens if we go for colour in the wardrobe?

I wud just like to say the boots in the classic option are fugly! Please, no one buy them and wear them with ur leather jackets, because you will look uber trashy and if I see you in the streets I WILL laugh at you.

it true that leather jackets gives you the classy look but I've never liked them on dresses. For the classic look, I love the concept, but I'll definitely for a longer pair of boots and a different color too.
