The doctors tell you to wait at least 6 weeks before having sex…but it depends on the woman. Some people will feel fine to have sex after the 6 weeks are up, and for some it may take longer. Some doctors do an episiotomy…where they manually “tear” the vagina…most women do have at least a little tearing..but if it’s not that bad they don’t need stitches.

Sara, it depends on the lady and child. Not all women need to get “stitched up,” only if their vagina rips, because the baby is too big. The wider the hips, the easier the delivery, and the less chance the mother will need stitches, especially if the baby is small.

Hey, if someone read this and realized for the first time that you CAN get pregnant while breast feeding (and/or any of the other ways listed), then the post has done its job.

But what I want to know is (if rumors are true) how Jamie Lynn could even bear to have sex so soon after her pregnancy. Doesn’t the gynecologist have to, uh, “stitch you up” after birth? My mother told me it takes the vagina at least six months to fully heal. Then again, I’m assuming she had a vaginal birth.

um, that rumor has been completely refuted, so it’s strange that you’re basing an article about it. It’s a really important idea. Oh, and the phrase “couldn’t keep her legs shut” is really offensive and judgmental.

Well I’ve been on birth control (oral) for the past two years, but my boyfriend and I still don’t take it for granted.

We generally always practice the “pull out” method, just in case, and hope that the birth control catches everything else.

But I pay for that birth control for a reason, so no condoms! Plus we’re serious enough in our relationship that if we get pregnant, we’ll keep the kid, simple as that. But our method seems to work really well so far!
