I'm going to second the motion about a brick being slightly more intelligent than you. "Investments on the other hand . . . ," you're a college student, I suspect you don't have a very dynamic portfolio at this point in your life. With that said, it is a fantastic time to BUY stocks. Great companies are trading at big discounts. If you have the cash to buy even a few shares of an S&P 500 Index mutual fund you'll look back in 10 years and say "wow, I got a great deal."

the economy bites hard. but the market IS cyclical, it will come back, it's just a question of when. until it does, leave your investments where they are, hope to everything that is holy that student loans will be available next semester and next year [legitimate concern], and maybe put a bit into savings in case you get fired/laid off [since unemployment is through the roof].
