If you did work in Finance then you would know that the Dow was at an all time high in October of 2007 and it hasn’t been crashing for the last 8 years. Remember the Democrats took over congress in the beginning of 2007. As for the price of Crude Oil if you haven’t noticed Crude has been on the rise since Clinton got into office (and I am not saying its cause of Clinton). It started to take a turn up in 1994 and then another one in 1999 and has been increasing ever since. It’s because OPEC knows we are dependent on there oil since we won’t drill here in the U.S… Right now there is about 200 billion barrels of Oil sitting under South Dakota that is about 77% of what Saudi Arabia has. I am for funding for new energy sources but we need to bridge the gap between that new technology and the technology we have now and the only way we can do that is by DRILLING. And I am sorry but Obama has flipped flopped on this issue way to many times for me to believe what he wants to do. Depending on who he is talking to he will tell them a something different.

As for Obama’s back ground he didn’t get elected to any public office until 1997. And why are you comparing Gov. Palin’s experience with Obama is she running for President or is McCain? See that’s the funny thing you Dem’s wont compare McCain’s experience with Obama’s but they will compare Obama’s with Plain’s. It’s comparing Apples to Oranges.

As for you school funding I agree we should invest more into our schools. Education is one way to promote economic growth but most school funding doesn’t come from the federal level only about 10%. Funding for schools comes from, at the local level, property tax both Corp. and personal. Not really an issue either candidate can run on. More of an issue for State/Local ballots.

As for your AIG bailout if you look at the plan AIG will end up owning the United States (which means the tax payer) a lot more then they barrowed. I think the loan interest is about 8.5% over a 2 year period. Plus as collateral the U.S. will own about 80% of AIG until the money is paid back.

Ah Welfare, Yes I am for helping people who are trying to get back on there feet but I am not for the Welfare plan we have in place now. How come we can’t make it a six month time period for people to get back on there feet? If they choose to do so and they still need help then sure lets give it to them but to say that just because you live below the poverty line and you don’t want or have no desire to work (lets face it a good majority of people on welfare have no intension of working) why should those people constantly get a charity hand out from the American people.

Oh yeah the tax cut plan for the middle class what most people don’t realize is that under John McCain’s plan the middle class get a bigger tax cut then under Obama’s Plan. Under Obama’s plan if you make 38-66K a year you get $1,042 tax cut and if you make 66-112K (both are middle class incomes) you get a $1,290 tax cut. Under McCain’s plan 38-66K get $319 and 66K-112K get $1,009 but if you have kids and lefts face it most of America’s middle class families do then you get and extra $3,500 tax credit per kid. Obama doesn’t want to increase the Child tax credit.

So instead of making there taxes higher maybe we should keep them were they are or lower them so they can re-invest it in the economy.

Look I hope I am wrong. I hope that once either candidate gets into office our economic situation turns for the better. To be honest no one knows what the hell is going to happen.

I still am in favor of a flat tax. Oh yeah no we should not cut our defense spending not at all. Maybe we should cut the $700 billion we give to foreign countries that hate us. $700 billion would go a long way at home for our schools and “welfare system” or even our health care but you don’t hear Libs complaining about that. God for bid.

Oh yeah if they come out with a blow up doll or pocket pussy of Palin, I am buying it.

As for our resident ill-informed Obama-haters, at least be logical and consistent with your arguments. You think Obama is shady in terms of his experience, do some research. He’s worked in some form of civil capacity since 1985 and as a political representative since 1997. He got sh** done and has been upfront in terms of his role in these organizations from the beginning. Have you seen his platform details…those things are well-researched and planned out. He’s not planning on going in mavericky and just hoping things will work out. More than can be said for Sarah “PTA beauty queen” Palin who outright refuses to answer questions for which she has no scripted answers. Republicans lost the “experience” argument with that choice, flat-out.

As for the tax arguments, yes lowering taxes on businesses encourages American investment, but where is that money going? Generally not to middle-class workers who need it to shore up the crux of our economy. More likely it will go to executive priviledges (see AIG bailout usage, massages anyone?) and poorly planned short-term investments. Without regulation and taxes, business practices are shady and “Joe-six-pack” will get f**ked. Moreover, where are we going to cut that tax money from? Certainly not our precious defense spending (which by the way, also rarely goes back to Americans). I foresee school districts and welfare programs getting the shaft (not that there’s so much being spent there now) and leaving us with more uneducated bitter citizens who want to work hard but don’t have the means to get ahead.

I work in finance in New York, you know who half my colleagues are? Not the smart hard-workers. No, these are guys who made the right friends in their fraternities in pricey universities which probably let them in b/c of daddy’s connections. And a flat tax bill? What exactly will that solve? Prevent the poor from putting away any college savings for their kids or buying healthcare…sounds like a plan. You think b/c people making $250k+ can now afford more shiny new purchases they’ll suddenly start acting socially conscious and reinvest in the American economy? I’m so sure that kind of self-interest will put America back on top. The invisible hand doesn’t work in a large global economy, sorry.

This guy. If these so called corporations were creating these jobs, unemployment would not be so high. Because its not "on the rise" it has risen. Well if it was that simple to get a "better paying job, or even a job period" dont you think more Americans would do so. Or do you think we all enjoy being underpaid and unemployed. Thats like telling homeless people to just go and get a place to live. Yea they are just giving educations away to people that dont have money. NOT!!!
