So, I have average-to-long, not too thick eyelashes, and have had quite a struggle finding mascaras that produce the super thick but not clumped look that I love. Over the years I've tried dozens.

I HATED the new Colossal Volum Express that everyone apparently loves, because it really didn't create any more 'volum' for me than Great Lash.

I LOVE the Volume Express in the red tube. Always have.

Lash Blast is okay, and is definitely a cheap way to get pseudo-okay big lashes. But it's not the best.

My favorite drugstore mascara is Revlon Lash Architect, with the curved brush. It comes in a silver tube. It can get a little clumpy if it's getting old or you have too much on the brush, but if you watch out for those things it's absolutely amazing. I only need one coat to get the thick bold lashes that I want.

The only 'expensive' mascaras I've ever tried were Benefit Bad Gal Lash, which is just okay, and a Guerlain mascara in a thick black tube that I actually loved, but don't want to spend $27 on.

Hope this helps!

I have super long eyelashes to begin with and im always looking for non clumping mascaras because the "spider eye" look can happen really easily for me. So, I found that the new Colossal Volum Express is the best i've tried.Almay Volumisant mascara however, is not the choice for me. It clumps too easily and will crumble by the end of the day.

The red tube Covergirl mascara is "Volume Exact" and "Lash Blast" is VERRRRY VERRRRRRY good. Also, a new fave of mine is Maybelline "The Colossal Volum' (no "e" in it on purpose!) Express" in Glam Black; it has collagen and is the $6 answer to DiorShow mascara :)

I have worked at a Clinique makeup counter for a couple of years now, and am the kind of girl who absolutely cannot go out without mascara. I've tried everything from expensive to inexpensive, and I have to say, cheaper mascara is better. Formulas are really different, and why pay $25 bucks when you can pay $6 and if you don't like it, you'll feel much less guilty letting it sit unused in your makeup bag. Clinique's High Impact, Maybelline Great Lash, and the Lancome mascara (the ones I'm familiar with) are what I'd call "high maintainance mascaras". They can give thick, dark, plush lashes, if done right, but for a girl who is always late or rushing off to work or class- Covergirl has mascaras to swear by. I love the new Lash Blast, or the kind in the red tube (I think it's called Great Lash??). They offer one in the red tube with a curved brush- use it! It will give you that much more lift. The Covergirl formulas dry faster when applying, and layer nicely, without flaking.

Also- GIRLS! STOP USING WATERPROOF MASCARA! If you're using it as a daily staple, stay away. It dries out your lashes and makes them brittle. Use it as little as possible, and if you must, use a primer/conditioner underneath to protect your lashes.

Good luck ladies!
