i HATE standardized tests.

i grew up in texas, with the effin TAAS, and then TAKS tests.

teachers in this messed up state only taught to the test. it was horrible.

but i'm sad to say that my school district gave a normal SAT to a select group of 7th graders. no prep, no psat, nothing. they just threw us into the testing room with high school jrs and srs. i ended up getting state recognition for my score, and my sister got mad because i beat her score when she took it her sr. year :(

It's just another example of America operating under the assumption that college is the only way to create a person viable to society, and that if you do not attend, you will fail to achieve anything.

I think it's bullcrap personally, and I would not allow my child to take it. Standardized testing does not accurately judge the ability of every child to do well in schooling and it assumes college is the only route after high school.

It's a basic flaw in the general education system, only being helped by people like the College Board.
