I work for Abercrombie and Fitch and our main computer that controls our register system literally fried, it overheated and caught on fire. I went to tell the worker at the registers that we would have to hold peoples stuff until home office reprogrammed one of the registers as the main system and it would be about 15 minutes and I turned to the woman that was in line (the only person in line) and said “I’m sorry mam, our system crashed and we are unable to ring you up at this time we can hold your purchases and we should be up and running in 15 minutes” she got this really pissed off look and said “I can’t just pay!” and I said I was sorry but there was nothing we could do. and she said “you dumb bitch! you don’t know how to count money!? Oh well I guess you wouldn’t, that’s why you’re working here”

first of all, what gives her the right? I was the most pleasant person ever when I spoke to her.

and second, you have to have a college degree to be a manager for any Abercrombie and Fitch company.

here’s my question to anyone who hasn’t worked in retail,

Do people not realize that everything, purchase, returns, and exchanges have to go through the system? That we cannot just “take your money” and that it is not our fault that YOU have a fucking problem. we are just workers, we don’t make the clothes, make the rules, we have absolutely no say. Save your breath for someone who can actually make a change, that’s why we have customer service cards, call them and bitch!
