I started hooking up with a really good friend of mine this holiday season. We’re both pretty tentative about becoming an item (yes, we’ve had the DTR convo), so things are really complicated and confusing.

Also, that part about the parents is SO TRUE. I’m used to having my own place (sans roommates) but I was in the middle of two apartments during break so we were forced to deal with our parents’ watchful eyes the entire time. I’ve since moved into my new apartment and it’s been bliss every time he visits!

So we hook up whenever I’m in town, and when we’re together, we’re “together” but we both feel free to mess around or date. no harm, no foul, no hard feelings either way.

Well, he told one of his friends who still goes to the same college as I do, and even though most people had never even heard my hook-ups name before, it spread like wildfire within the first day back from Christmas break.

And the worst part is, it got back to the guy who I was just starting to make progress with in terms of a potential relationship. Now, he’s weary of me and my ability to stay loyal, which I totally am if I am in a stable relationship.

So my advice is, don’t ever think you are safe. I wish I would have told this guy specifically “Let’s just keep this between you and me, alright buddy?”
