All Made Up: Beauty Blunders

We’ve all been guilty of some major makeup meltdown. I was personally guilty of lash to brow blue eye shadow in high school. Yikes, glad those days are behind me. Now that I’ve recovered from my beauty blunders, I can impart my wisdom so you don’t follow in my UNfabulous footsteps.
Sperm Brow
There are a slew of brow problems to address, but sperm brow is the most annoying (and the funniest to talk about). You’ve all seen it before – a tuft of hair near the bridge of the nose, and then super over-tweezed little tail for the rest of the brow forming a little hairy sperm. Not. Attractive. Not only is it not cute to have sperm swimming above your eyes, the shape is simply not flattering to your face.
So to remedy this and any other brow issues you may be having, brow expert Anastasia has made it fool proof with some really rad stencils. They’re 20 bucks at Sephora and so easy to use. It comes with several different shapes; find the one that matches your brows best, fill in with a pencil or powder and tweeze anything outside the lines!
Foundation Mask
This is a classic mistake but it seems that some people just can’t wise up. Haven’t you seen that girl with the flawless makeup that looks great until you get to her jaw line and realize what color her skin really is? It’s so scary and unnatural to see someone’s face literally end when their neck starts. You never want to see a line where your foundation ends. So, how do you avoid it? The most important thing is to make sure you have the right shade. Never wear your summer foundation in the winter and vice versa – your skin is not the same color!
Even if you have the perfect shade the best way to avoid the foundation mask is use a foundation brush! E.L.F. has a decent foundation brush for $1. ONE DOLLAR! So you have no excuse to not use it. When you apply foundation with a brush it goes on more evenly and the edges blend out into your neck instead of leaving a straight line.
Bonus tip: If you use bronzer, make sure to use it on your neck and chest too so the color doesn’t stop at your chin!
Brown Eyeliner
Okay so it might sound good in theory – you don’t want to use something as intense as black eyeliner and you want a more natural look, so brown is the obvious choice. The problem is that a lot of brown liners have orange or red undertones. Orange or red around your eyes = BAD. It just ends up making you look tired
If you want to use a brown liner, make sure it’s a dark chocolate brown without any red or orange tones to it. Or try a charcoal grey shade like the Clinique Quick Liner in Slate for $14.50.
Matte Face
Many girls our age deal with break outs and oily skin. So obviously the idea of matifying anything seems appealing. But when you use a matte foundation with matifying powder over it and oil absorbing sheets every hour…you have over done it. The thing about being TOO matte is that your skin should have a natural glow and shine to it. Nothing looks faker than a totally matte face.
You can use any luminizer mixed into your foundation to give a soft healthy glow to your skin. Try Stila’s Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer for $32. You can use it on its own or under any foundation or powder to give a soft subtle radiance to your skin.

And please for the love of god learn how to apply mascara!!! I'm tired of seeing clumpy, scraggly black masses the women call their eyelashes, it looks so disgusting. I understand the use of using mascara to make your eyes pop and to make your eyelashes more defined, but c'mon-they shouldn't look that a worn-out bristle brush. When ever I have to talk to someone with over-mascaraed eyes close up it's so hard to not tell them to go wash their face.

I agree, when those people who make those make up mistakes are your friends its best too tell them. no one likes to be seen with a girl the shade of an oompaloompa! and its just helping her too.

You obviously do not know how to use bronzer, it should be nowhere near your chin. Learn the basics before making a post.

After years of being a makeup artist. The rule stands true. There are no rules to makeup, only rules of thumb. Nothing called "too anything".I disagree with telling anyone how to wear their foundation/blush/powder/eyeliner/eyeshadow. Makeup is subjective. Everyone has their own makeup style. Many light people tend to go light/lighter or mix it with a luminzer to make themselves brighter/radiant/porcelin like. A great example of this would be dita von teese, who even stays out the sun to maintain her light skintone and wears light foundation. Others prefer to be dark/darker and darken in the sun or use bronzer all over their skintone. Different people have different preferences.

If I spelled "Horse" "Howrse" than there is no "ifs" "and" or "buts" because grammar isnt subjective. What is wrong is wrong! However. Makeup is subjective. I hate nude lips. Does that mean its right to say "dont wear nude lips" ? No.
I might not like it but someone else might. There is no rule to makeup. Thats the beauty of being a makeup artist. There are soo many different styles.
haters need to get off of it that what they say hold a grain of weight. I hate bronzer. But maybe there is someone who loves that deep bronzed look. I cant go to them and say "dont go soo deep in the bronzer" and say its "constructive". No matter how nice it is.
Also, alot of times..haters wont attack you full force. They will give some bullcrap semi compliment and hit you. Oh your hair looks combed today, but that blonde is soo ugly. CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM!
No..

All I know is, the people who like to "criticize" better be ready to get their feelings hurt, because not only are people not having it. But someone can also come up to you and talk foolishness! I dont understand why females have to be soo caddy. Some comments I read before were out of pure jealousy. Live and let live. Makeup is subjective. I hate nude lips. Does that mean its right to say "dont wear nude lips" ? No.

There are soo many different styles.who is anyone to tell someone theyre wearing a too light or too dark foundation, because there is no such thing. Nicole and Sam from pixiwoo(huge makeupartists in Britain) sometimes wear paler or darker foundation and it looks gorgeous! as long as people blend it to the neck its fine….some people prefer to look bright and radiant.

Just a general reminder, not aimed towards anyone..but those who feel they need to force their opinions on others.
I would like to thank the blog owner for letting people get their points across! this was a general reminder! dont tell people how to wear their OWN makeup style. These "tips" are bogus. Any real makeup artist wouldnt agree with this foolishness
