Simple rules to follow for people new to this that will stop your readers going out and buying a cheap knock off …..

Any Vibration does not = Vibration Training

Heavy Vibration = Training

Light Vibration = Therapy

Power Plate are a heavier system than some , but lighter than others.

The vibration is bad thing...?

Only talked about by uneducated trainers or academics trying to justify why they know nothing about something that was realesed in 1870, but they think its new.

The only negative issues people have with vibration are people who stay in a "seated position" for 8 hrs a day driving a truck or using a hand tool that vibrates all day etc.... And the restictions are called ISO 2631. Short term exposure like this model is doing has been used for over 100 years with no reported issues. So I think its safe to say she will be fine.

I'm weary of the vibrations. My motor control prof was doing research on linking the usage of vibrating machines (power tools, toothbrushes etc) and arthritis. This would seem to really cause some vibrations through the body. Doesn't seem worth the risk. As far as I know..pretty much all muscular exercise offers helps you lose weight, increase bone density, and increase overall health. So are the claims listed in this blog really all that different than a normal weight routine?

i think the point is that you're doing strength training on an unstable surface which means your core muscles work harder the entire time.

you can get a similar effect by standing on a bosu ball while you do your strength training, and it def gets your heart rate up and keeps you sweating. i've found that doing my strength training using free weights while standing on the bosu ball gives me a better (harder) workout.
