it's not a total un-do email… it gives you 5 seconds to rescind the email, so if you don't realize your mistake til the next morning, you're still screwed.

They said the same thing last year around April Fools saying you would be able to past date emails. The example was homework due at midnight that you could send it later and date it midnight. would have been awesome, then i realized it was april fools.

they did add it! it's under labs so if you go to the labs function, click enable, and you're ready to go. it's only available for the first 5 seconds you send something, but that's better than nothing.

and jane – if you go to settings then the chat tab, you can toggle your preferences to only allow people you've explicitly added to your chat list.

Google made a post about this 'new' feature last year… only it was for April fool's day. Maybe this time it will be real!

This is simply wonderful.

I wish gmail would add an "unadd" feature and didn't automatically add email addresses to the google chat list and let the other person know that you have their email address. =)
