why-men-love-bitchesI’ll admit it: I’ve got a thing for relationship self-help books. When I’m working the floor at my local bookstore, I can’t help but skim through the latest additions to the section (though I pray no one sees me…) Maybe it’s the colorful covers or the catchy titles; I mean who can pass up a book with the word “bitch” right on the front? Since I’m somewhat of a connoisseur in the area, I decided to write about my favorite for all you gals out there!

“Why Men Love Bitches” is as sassy as the title suggests, and that is precisely what I love about it! Sherry is hard-hitting, honest and, most importantly, RIGHT.

Now the word “bitch” comes with all sorts of negative connotations: rude, stuck-up, conceited and all sorts of other nasty adjectives. But that’s not the kind of bitch Sherry is writing about. In “Why Men Love Bitches,” the bitch is confident, not cocky, knows her worth and is not willing to settle for any schmuck.

Sherry empowers women and made me realize that I should not being chasing desperately after any man. That strips me of my dignity and I am better than that; in fact, every women is! If a man is making you run after him, you should turn your heels and bolt in the other direction. This is a clear signal that you will never feel good enough for him. There is a fine line between effort and desperation and Sherry definitely helped me clarify that and all my expectations when pursuing a man.

Seriously, this book HELPS. It sounds silly, but right after reading it I started seeing a guy that I had crushed on all of high school without him even taking a second glance. I didn’t have to apply any methods or use any cheesy lines to snag him; I respected myself and realized the prize that I am. And that made him see it too!

Any girl who finds herself constantly chasing after boys will benefit from reading this one. Sherry works on building your self-esteem more than your techniques with the fellas and in the end you will be able to find somone who respects and worships you as the goddess you are. With so much domestic violence in the media (hello Rihanna!) it’s important for women to realize that they are important, worthy and equal to men and deserve someone who makes them feel that way ALL the time.

    I read this book a few months ago and I completely agree it's quite the fun read! At times the author seems to contradict herself and can get a little far-fetched and bitter (not every guy out there is a heartless pig…). But overall it's a really fun book with a positive message. Loved it!

    As someone who blogs about relationships in the hookup culture (www.hookingupsmart.com), I love this book and often recommend it. I love her definition of a bitch – a strong, confident woman who maintains high standards and demands respect.     my dad bought this book for me right before i left for college two years ago. and honestly it was one of the best gifts. its an empowering book and i agree with almost everything it is trying to get across.

    women should be strong and independent, not chasing or waiting for guys

    This book is phenomenal!!! I feeel like every woman young or old should read it. She is so on point about just about everything! After reading this book I felt empowered and no longer regreted dumping my ex! A breathe of fresh air!

    I read Why men Marry bitches, and i thought it was amazing! i used to be one of those anxious girls always trying to please my man by doing everything for him, but being completly upset in the relationship because he wouldnt ever go out of his way to spend time with me. after reading this book I felt so much more confident and stood up to him.held back and got on with my own life and now he is the one asking me to come over! he is the one getting in contact with me, sending the sweetest texts, taking me out to dinner! we have even had a talk about moving in together! I couldnt believe how fast this worked! I still have a lot of reading to do though as I have a few slip ups where I think I could have potentially added a month or two to any further commitment or special occasions. Sherry, you are a life/relationship saver and I have reccomended your books to my friends who before were telling me to dump him, now they are jelous of my relationship! depression & anxiety GONE! thank you :)
