Well, if happy is gonna be bitchily unhappy, then I am going to point out that Ginger and Mary Anne were the first lesbian couple on television.

No, seriously!

Actually, I'd like to see ann coulter and michele bachman hitch it up. Newt and Rush would be a great pair, too. A pair without a pair between them, hell ya!

I think the couples you chose to be part of this list are offensive to the gay community as a whole. This is talking about marriage, just because someone has a boyfriend doesn't mean they are the person that they want to marry. Furthermore, the fact that you picked trashy people who aren't even together or in a committed relationship just degrades the idea of gay marriage and insinuates that everyone who is gay is going to get married or likes the institution of marriage.

Why couldn't you pick six committed, loving couples instead of a bunch of random hookups that may not even be indicative of homosexuality.

Now, if I knew all that time I spent writing letters to my local representatives and to Gov. Douglas (not that his veto mattered in the end... haha!) in support of this legislation would make people want someone such as Lilo to move to VT... I would have back-peddled like all hell and wrote correction letters of 'sorry mr representative, my ID lies, I am not a constituent in your county, please ignore my past pleas'.

Well, no I wouldn't go that far... but lemme just say that is just about how much I would NOT want her in my state. Especially to live - permanently. There would be a mass push to get her and all her crazy paparazzi followers out of our pretty land. Stuck up, drunken drama queens don't fit.

I'm really glad that you wrote this article but I have to correct you on one point. Callie and Erica weren't the first openly lesbian couple on network TV. I mean Willow and Tara were an openly lesbian couple in like 2001 on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Plus, if you are going to pick fake gay couples, how could no one from the L Word be on your list?! If there was ever a fictional Lesbian couple that I would want to see married it would be Bette and Tina!
