What I learned in college:
1. Ramen, pizza, and taquitos from 7-11 kept me alive.
2. Coke and vodka pong was a baadd idea.
3. Nobody is going to wake you up to go to class.
4. My lifelong obsession with staying up late was finally shared with other people.
5. It's much easier to walk everywhere than to try and find a parking spot.
6. You can wear pajamas to class...nobody will notice.

Now that I am done with college and in grad school (but living with my parents again), things are a lot different..but not necessarily for the worse.

Everyone should check out my ezine/blog www.AnEasySpread.com. It is geared toward college students and offers some humourous stories about college cuisine, as well as some practical cooking shortcuts and such for those just going into college. Feel free to post comments and leave suggestions! Thanks!

@Advocatumdiaboli: Wesleyan isn't exactly a small school. I go to a medium/large school and the library is exactly as she described.
I've gotta disagree with number 5. I go to a small college, and the libraries, although people STILL believe they're a place for the studious, always turn into social spaces. Even discounting the first floors where talking is permitted, you always run into people you know, and are sucked into long conversations with them. Obviously dorm rooms, depending on the time of day, are also a pretty bad place to get work done. Your best bet is to find your own random private personal place to do work...good luck with that, M.
