I have done it once before… painful but the results were so amazing!!

I'm actually going back to do it again next Friday.

If you're looking a great place, amazing staff and a fast clean job. (When I say fast I mean I was in and out of the place in under 10 minutes).

Then check out Skin and Body Works in Davis Square, Somerville.. worth the drive.

Ugh, I'm also too scared to try it, plus I'm wayyy too shy. I don't know, I'd feel so embarrassed to have a stranger (or anyone except my boyfriend, for that matter) be down there. I've tried it myself at home and the pain wasn't too bad but the results were terrible.

Ellear has kind of got me more convinced now… I might just try it!

I also want a follow up article if you do try it eventually…

I get Brazilians every 4 weeks. I swear to you, the first time can be a little painful, but once you adjust to what is going on and realize what parts hurt you the most, you learn to deal and move on. Make sure you go to a reputable salon that has trained waxer who knows what they are doing. I go to a salon where they do mostly Brazilians and that means I am getting the best quality job for my money.

Don't be put off by the pain and just go with it. Trust me, you will LOVE the result. Shaving doesn't come close to waxing on any level. I say everyone go try it and report back. I guarantee we would have some changed women in here!

Seriously, go for sugaring!!! I switched from waxing to sugaring a year ago and it is amazing, no ingrown hairs or red bumps or anything and since it is rarer, the people who are trained in sugaring are usually better, I find. It is not awkward, no yoga poses, just lie on your back and side usually. If you have been shaving for a while, your hair will be probably be really thick and coarse and hurt like a b*tch the first few times but after a while the hair grows in really fine and is hardly noticeable before it is long enough to wax/sugar again. Don't be scared!!!

I can understand the feeling of not wanting to shave anymore. I hate hair but absolutely hate shaving all the time. I made an appointment yesterday to get a Brazilian on Thursday! Im extremely scared to do it… But just think… It never killed anyone! I'll let you all know how it goes if I have the guts to go all the way!!

Never done it, but what I would like to try is sugaring. It's the same as waxing but done with a sugary substance instead of wax. It's supposed to be less painful because the stuff only sticks to the hair and not to your skin. It's hard to find a place that does it though.

You should totally do a follow-up post in the event you take the plunge and do it! I, too, dislike hair but fear getting waxed, even though I secretly want to do it. I'd love to hear what a fellow skeptic has to say.

I've never had anything except my eyebrows waxed and honestly I wouldn't spend the money on it. Even deciding to get my eyebrows done yesterday was a small debate: either that or more gas. I'm tired of driving so I got my brows done haha. As far as legs go, it's too much pain for not as amazing results. I'd rather have them lasered if I had the money.

I so understand your dilemma. I hate hair too yet I have never ever been waxed. I've tried that Nad's stuff but it hurt so freaking bad that I gave up on it. I wish I could afford laser hair removal!
