Weekly Ten: We’re Geeks. Embrace it.

IMG_0095

Today, July 13th, is “Embrace Your Geek Day.” Here are the top 10 totally embraceable things that we geek out for. And we’re not ashamed to admit it. Online.

10. Harry Potter
Ugh, is there anything sexier than a wizard in glasses? I literally screamed when I saw the preview for “The Half Blood Prince” in theaters.

9. Arrested Development
Seriously, I know every single line to this show. Points if you can do every family member’s imitation of a chicken. (Yeah, I can do that too.)

8. Twilight
Okay, admittedly, I’m not a twi-tard, err, I mean “twi-hard,” but I can’t resist drooling over Robert Pattinson’s perfect hair.

7. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Joss Whedon is a God. Enough. Said.

6. Anything and everything Apple
iPhone, MacBook, iPod. I want it all. I’m pretty sure there’s an app for that.

5. The Sims
Devastatingly addictive. Who doesn’t love building houses, creating lookalikes of your friends and neighbors, and – oh my god I’ve spent four hours straight on this game.

4. Seth Green
And all of his endeavors. Robot Chicken anyone?

3. GeekStuff4U
I don’t know what this is or what it does, but I approve.

2. Hulu.com
Addictive and full of the best of the best things to geek out to. Missed Andy Samberg’s latest Digital Short? Hulu that sh*t.

1. BO. BURNHAM.
Please, please, please, please marry me.

oh lordy, what a list! Arrested development has got to be the most hilarious show ever. Followed closely by Buffy who kicks some serious ass, which stars Seth Green as Oz, which makes him awesome in my book. I have wasted a lot of hours on the sims, and have also yearned for that little ping that happens when you start an apple computer. And, pretty much everything else made by apple. And who ever created hulu is a genius. So is JK rowling. I’m such a friggin nerd. And proud of it!

Great list (especially Joss Whedon…I’m such a Browncoat!). Robot Chicken is fantastic. I can’t wait for when their Skate Tour gets to NYC!

Great list–could’ve been about TEN MILLION times geekier, however.

I didn’t even know it was Embrace Your Geek Day today! :D Every day’s a geeky day for me though, lol. Although this list was pretty tame, I’m happy that the nerdier side of life is getting recognition on College Candy. Kudos! :D

Bo Burnham is a GOD. His jokes are as smart as hell.

I can’t wait for Harry Potter either….1 day, 7 hours and 50 minutes until I am the happiest nerd in the world.

When I got to number one, I died laughing. I love him. If you marry him, I fully intend on having an affair with him. Sorry.

Not really geeky (Twilight? Really?), but nice list all the same.

Tell me what you guys would’ve added to the list, expand my geekdom, please!

Because I was so distraught that I missed the midnight showing of HP6, I spent my Saturday night with Dan Radcliffe instead of partying in NYC. Good decision? Obviously.

The Sims: I literally laughed out loud. TOO true! I’m glad I’m not the only one that finds herself completely wasting her day on a computer game!

A Vegetarian Thanksgiving? Yes, Please

I’m not a vegetarian, but I have a vegetarian boyfriend (and an aversion to all things Thanksgiving). I’m going to his parents’ house for the holidays this year and, luckily, they’re tolerant of nontraditional main dishes, so we’re going to experiment a little.
