False rape accusations should be prosected, and receive serious sentences. It should be a felony. It has serious consequences for the accused men. Very serious ones. The least of it is the few days jail before getting bailed out if they do. It's the public shaming with many people never quite believing that they didn't do it "or something close and very aggressive / bad". (The Hofstra guys merely had consensual group sex with her, and then she bumped into her boyfriend in stairwell right after while she was still reeking and looking like heavy sex, so she made up the rape alabi.

I don't think men should be arrested for rape on a mere he said / she said before there's an extensive police investigation. And good evidence for the accusor's accusation. The feminist lie that women don't lie about rape is just that, a lie. They do a lot, particular in the current campus climate on many campuses.

rape is being trivialized. and the males who are being falsely accused of rape are themselves, in a sense, being raped. in the same way being raped leaves a lasting effect on a woman, being falsely accused of raping someone does as well. the law of course, has always given females the benefit of the doubt, in all sorts of cases besides rape cases. it's sad that in this day and age men and women are not equal in the eyes of the law. and on top of that, things like this cause society to continue to treat the female gender as victims, thus perpetuating sexism against women.

There needs to be a hard and fast law for women who claim rape. Aren't there laws about lying to the authorities and wasting man-power/tax dollars?

Something similar happened to me a few years back on campus.. Me and a girl were both drunk.. we had sex(she happened to be a virgin). i walked her back to her room. The next day she said it was rape.. The story would of got out of control but thank god my room mate happened to walk in when it happened and saw her participating more than i was be cause i laying down… To this day im still bothered and yes im a minority and she not.. I figured she was probably embarrassed b.c she was a virgin and thought i would tell the whole school how i popped her cherry so she came up with this horrible story that could have/would have killed my future

i think she was threaten, why on earth would she say she was gang raped if she wasn't?

They should have had done a test to verify if she was in fact raped or not, that's the only way to know for sure.

well what REALLY is annoying me and most of my friends right now is the news stations are everywhere on campus. all just trying to get any small news to give my school a bad name all because of that incident. people are over analyzing everything from a guy greeting a girl hello with a kiss on the cheek. the news people are also going around asking indecent questions to the people who work here and students just to get anything out of it.

My good friend was just convicted of a rape he did not commit, and it's ruined his whole life. He was thrown out of the marines, his life-long goal, and he is on a sex offender list for the next 20 years. He was a virgin, and a gentleman. The girl got embarrassed when her friends made fun of her for sleeping with someone so "nerdy" or whatever, so she called rape.

It makes me so sick.

There is already has more evidence of an actual crime committed by her than she had against the four men that were incarcerated.
Yet no charges have been filed against HER.
We’re hesitating to imperil the future of a woman simply for committing a possible felony that led to the false imprisonment and public humiliation of four innocent men.
Where was the hesitation when THEIR futures were at stake?
HER name is being withheld by the press because of “rape shield” laws. No such courtesy was granted to the four men. Nor was such courtesy granted to the three involved in the infamous Duke case.

Disgusting sexism.
