I used to be a big Bare Minerals fan myself, used it for awhile until I found Lauren Hutton's Aqua Elements. The Bare Minerals was leaving my face shiny, and not giving me the coverage I needed. With the Aqua Elements, I can't complain. The coverage is great, and the makeup is very natural looking to the point you can barely tell that I have it on!

It's a great product, it comes in different shades so you can choose which one best suits your skin tone, and it lasts all day! If you're interested in taking a look at it, you can check it out here http://www.laurenhutton.com/aqua-elements.html

Hope this is helpful!

used bare minerals for a couple of years and although it covered well, it left my face shining more than i'd have liked. this is good for people without definition to their face, but for people with more pointed features bare minerals can make you look quite stark. it irritated my skin (due to the swirly, aggressive application method and the bismuth content of the makeup itself) so it as back to MAC for me until...

i tried, and purchased the new powder mineral makeup by clinique. i was hesitant but needed something with the coverage/finish of mineral and powder, without being heavy or irritating my very delicate skin. when wearing the clinique mineral powder (which lasts hours, doesn't make your face itch, events out skintone in a very flattering way, and has a much gentler suggested application method) i feel very confident and natural, as where before i felt very reserved and covered up.

honestly cannot say enough good things about this product.

I like using the mineral veil powder as a setting powder for my foundation , but I find that using the whole set makes my face look REALLY shiny. I have oily/acne prone skin and the mineral foundation has the tendency to either migrate and settle in creases (making me look like a cougar) or make my face BLINDINGLY shiny. Also, some brands of mineral makeup actually have made me severely break out. I like using Fresh Umbrian clay foundation - it stays put and the clay helps dry up super oily areas.

I have heard some people complain that B.E. isn't as good as they make it out to be because it has bismuth in it, but isn't that what actually prevents the breakouts?

And Raquel, I find it doesn't cover up acne as well (especially the big inflamed red ones) as liquid foundation or concealer works, but a good way around it is to just dab the liquid foundation where you need it and then cover it with the B.E. so the color evens out. :)

I HATE B.E. I sell it at my store and have a ton of it due to gratis but I just hate the way it covers. I've found that it looks great on younger people with great skin to begin with. It barely covers my acne scars and fades after like 2 hours of wear. I use Revlon Colorstay Liquid for Oily/ Combo skin and it is AMAZING! I'll continue to use my Bare Minerals as setting powder for my liquid lol
