…or you could be creative and not so slutty, I know god forbid. One year a friend of mine went as an rubiks cube, so cute and different. A few boys asked if they could "solve her puzzle", nothing flashy or showing skin, I know how on earth did any boy think that was cute? (note the sarcasm)

haha I kind of like the brick house though…

my costume is pretty different from what everyone else usually does and isn't slutty at all, but when people see me in it they're gonna say "oh Jess" because it's SO me. I'm excited.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the "slut rule" on Halloween. I mean, I like that there's one day a year where you can basically wear lingerie around and no one will say anything (well judging by these comments I guess SOME people still say shit) but seriously, who cares? It's Halloween you can where whatever the hell YOU want! That's the point.

I don't think these costumes are very "funny" though. Maybe cause they aren't that unique to me.

Yeah but casey some people go way over the top, really you can't be creative and make a costume? It's like some girls use it as an excuse to be so provocative, but it's tasteless and vulgar not actually sexy. What I really wanted to get at was the lack of creativity and needing to buy a costume. I guess if someone wants to look like a cheap hooker so be it, it's their choice and their right. But really it gets old when it's a whole friggen room full of slutty Ginny Weasly's and nurses.

You can make your own costume and still have it be slutty, so that's not really a good argument.I made my own "slutty fairy" costume last year, the year before that I made my own "slutty pirate" costume and this year I'm going as an 80's workout girl (a la Eric Prydz "Call on Me") and again, I'm making my own costume but it's definitely going to be provocative. In fact the whole reason I even still dress up is because I like the sexy costumes.

Not to mention there are thousands of different "slutty" Halloween costumes, so the chances of getting a whole room full of the same 2 are pretty slim.

Why do you care so much what anyone else wears anyway? If there's a whole room full of the same two costumes then you should be happy since it means you'll actually stand out. Seriously, when I walk into a Halloween party I don't even notice what anyone else has on, I'm too busy showing off my killer costume to care.

Well we are just different and I was not raised to think whorish behavior or attire was creative, even as an adult who has changed quite a bit I still don't think it's right. But everyone is entitled to an opinion and I really don't like that fact that you often chastise people for having one different than yours. I would never tell someone to their face that I think what they are doing is wrong, thats rude. But this is the comment section so it's not really geared at anyone one person if you take offense I'm sorry, but it's an opinion.

I don't chastise anyone for having a difference of opinion. I like to debate so I can get a better understanding of others viewpoints, I explain my position, and then I challenge the opposing view. If you, or anyone else, can't defend their view, well then why should I agree with it? I know what I believe and why, it seems to me most of the readers on here don't know what they believe or why, because most often the discussions result in people abandoning their side of the argument and subsequently hurling insults at me, which gives me the impression that they really have no argument.

But just because someone dresses provocatively one day out of the entire year doesn't mean they are a "slut", or "whore" or participating in "whorish behavior". What you wear one night of the year doesn't determine what kind of a person you are, and what you wear only effects your behavior so much, a person who is normally very refined isn't going to start sucking every dick at a party simply because the bottoms of her butt cheeks might be exposed (btw, most of the "slutty" Halloween costumes out there don't reveal any inappropriate body parts, and they certainly aren't exposing as much as a bathing suit, which is a pretty commonly excepted piece of attire that people live in for 3 months out of the year as opposed to one night).

I don't care that you don't think it's acceptable, you are certainly free to think that, but when you come to a discussion board and speak out against the topic of the post, then you'd better be prepared to defend your view to people who are going to challenge it, because I guarantee you people will ALWAYS challenge it, trust me, I know from experience . If you don't want people to challenge your view, don't share it.
